Chelsea are on the verge of selling off two midfielders, who cost the club a combined £53million, to Premier League rivals.

Enzo Maresca has been very busy this summer transfer window, splashing over £243m on eight new players, with Jorrel Hato the latest name through the door.

There could be yet more incomings with the club working on a deal for RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons, while they maintain an interest in Manchester United wantaway Alejandro Garnacho.

But the Blues still need to offload several stars who have no future at the club, following on from the sales of Noni Madueke, Joao Felix and Djordje Petrovic.

Additionally, striker Armando Broja and defender Bashir Humphreys have left to join Burnley and it seems the Turf Moor club are not done raiding Stamford Bridge yet.

The Athletic report that the Clarets have reached an agreement to sign Lesley Ugochukwu, just two years after the defensive midfielder moved to Chelsea for over £23m.

Ugochukwu made just 12 Premier League appearances in his debut season, only three of which were starts, and was loaned out to Southampton last year.

The 21-year-old was a shining light in the relegated team but deemed surplus to requirements by Maresca despite having five years left on his contract.

And he won’t be the only midfielder leaving west London this summer, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Everton are close to agreeing a deal to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

The 26-year-old followed Maresca from Leicester to Chelsea last summer but was almost immediately linked with a transfer after struggling for game time at the Bridge.

While he helped win the Conference League and Club World Cup, the £30m signing was handed just two Premier League starts and has been the subject of interest from multiple top-flight teams.

Chelsea legend John Obi Mikel recently urged Dewsbury-Hall to find a new team this summer, saying: ‘He did well in the Championship with Leicester, but this is Chelsea Football Club.

‘He needs to go somewhere he can play and improve. Is he a good player? Yes. Is he a Chelsea player? Definitely not.’

While the fee offered by Everton is not known, it is said the deal is not related to their pursuit of Southampton’s Tyler Dibling, with David Moyes keen to sign both Englishmen.

Sky Sports report that the Saints have rejected the Toffees’ second bid for Dibling worth an initial £35m plus £8m.
