The Blues’ league form has been up and down in the last few months and has left them with a fight on their hands to secure a top-five finish and a return to the top table of European football.
Enzo Maresca’s side produced a superb last-ditch comeback against Fulham to win 2-1 away from home last weekend. But results elsewhere mean they are still two points behind fifth-place Newcastle with five league games remaining.
Despite being in the semi-finals of the Conference League, the priority will surely be the league over the next few weeks, with the tricky visit of Everton next up for the west London club.
