Chiefs Star Travis Kelce Ready to ‘Dive’ Into Surprise Opportunity

Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs has obviously enjoyed a very successful career in the NFL, and whenever he finally decides to retire from football, he’ll have a plethora of other things he can do to stay relevant in the world of sports and then some. Kelcehas clocked 28 catches for 321 yards and two touchdowns this season, so he’s still a good target for quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The Chiefs are coming off a storybook win over the Detroit Lions during Sunday Night Football on October 12, and even though it’s just one game, it felt like so much more. That win made the Chiefs 3-3 for the season and broke the Lions’ four-game winning streak. It also put an end to the questions about whether the Lions would be the new, strongest team in the NFL. They don’t appear to be ready for that title yet.

So, it’s already an exciting season for Kelce, and he still very much has his heart into football when he’s not with his soon-to-be-wife, Taylor Swift. But, on an episode of Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Jason, he revealed that he’d like to try another sport, and he was definitive about it.

Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs Has New Aspirations

Speaking on the podcast, Jason talked about his experience of being a part of WrestleMania. That got Travis talking about how he would actually like to get into pro wrestling.

The Rock was a recent guest on “New Heights” and looked at Jason’s performance at WrestleMania. He was very kind about it and gave Jason a 9.9 out of 10. The Rock also talked about how it’s important to big celebrities to appear in pro wrestling.

“Well, it was a complete honor for me and Lane. We actually, during the week, we didn’t know what we were going to get asked to do,” Jason said. “They’re like, ‘Hey, do you want to be a part?’ I’m like, ‘All right.’ Well, we’ve never wrestled.”

He added, “We went to the Monster Factory down in South Jersey. Got some pointers and like saw wrestling on that kind of tier, which was incredible. Very honored. Oh my god, I had a blast. I mean, they made it pretty easy. They were like, ‘You’re going to jump at this point, do this, and then when boom, we’re out of here. So, just bring the energy. That’s all.’”

Travis Kelce Talks Ring Opportunity

Then, The Rock asked Travis if he wanted to get involved with the WWE. Kelce said that he would love to get in the ring.

“Listen, when the opportunity presents itself, you know, I’ll dive in there,” Travis said, indicting that he’s ready to take the opportunity. “I’ve been dreaming about this. Been working on my moves in the living room for years, trying to get my chance. I feel like I’m more of an aerial act, though. I’m off the ropes.”

Kelce’s lady Swift was at the Lions game, by the way, which was at Arrowhead Stadium. She usually only attends home games because of security concerns, so it makes sense that she would make sure to be at this one. Swift was spotted in a VIP area with WNBA star Caitlin Clark.
