Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has received many awards over the years, but it probably still feels good to get recognized for his athletic abilities and charity work. Kelce, who is dating Taylor Swift, has won the Derrick Thomas MVP award and Pro Bowl Offensive MVP in the past, as well as a slew of other awards.
Kelce also happens to be one of the most popular players on the Chiefs’ roster. Sure, dating Swift has certainly raised his profile when it comes to the mainstream public, but even before he and Swift started dating in 2023, he was a very popular name in the NFL.
Now, Kelce can add another big award to the tally of awards that he’s picked up, and chances are, Swift is proud of her man.

Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce Gets Major Award
Kelce is a Ohio guy at heart, even though he plays for the Chiefs in Kansas City. He grew up in Westlake, Ohio, which is outside of Cleveland.
On Sunday, June 22, the State of Ohio and the city of Cleveland announced that Kelce as the winner of “The Outstanding Leadership Award” by the Won’t Quit Foundation for the good things that he has done in the local community.
“This award honors individuals who exemplify extraordinary commitment, compassion, and service,” State Representative Darnell T. Brewer stated in his release about the award. “It recognizes those who go above and beyond to uplift their community, inspire their peers, and make a lasting impact on the world around them. Through consistent action, integrity, and selflessness, they embody the true spirit of leadership and the mission of the Won’t Quit Foundation.”
It’s great to see Kelce recognized for all that he does outside of the game of football. He’ll likely get more awards as the season progresses.

Travis Kelce is Talked About in Terms of Retirement Again
Kelce was a hot topic on the Friday, June 20, edition of the Rich Eisen Show, with Eisen talking about Kelce saying “it wasn’t that hard of a decision” when it came to not retiring this season. So, it seems as if Kelce and retirement will also be a big topic.
“It’s not that hard of a decision? And the reason why people are bringing this up is because, again, of the way Kelce finished up last year and what his numbers were last year,” Eisen said on the show. “His numbers last year, I have them in front of me, the fewest receiving yards in a season for him since 2015… 823 yards.”
He added, “As a matter of fact, I need to amend that. It’s the lowest he’s ever had in any season in which he started 16 games of his career. He started 16 games in 2015 [and] had 875 yards receiving. He had 823 last year. His three touchdowns last year, fewest of any season of his career. And then there was the Super Bowl in which we were expecting maybe another ‘Mahomes-Kelce’ magic. But as you know, there was zero magic on that night.”
