Colin Cowherd Makes Feelings Clear on Broncos’ Bo Nix After Dominant Showing vs. Packers

On today’s episode of The Herd, Colin Cowherd did not hold back when sharing his thoughts on Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix.

The longtime sports media personality made it clear that Bo Nix has not gotten the full credit he has deserved.

In Cowherd’s view, the longing skepticism of Nix isn’t rooted in performance, but rather a false narrative.

And he believes it’s time for that to change.

“Too many people have just sort of made up their mind on Bo Nix,” Cowherd admitted.

“I think he reminds me of a right-handed Steve Young. He is way, way more athletic than anybody gives him credit for.”

Cowherd openly questioned what more Nix could possibly do to earn universal respect:

“I don’t know what he needs to do to impress people. I don’t know what it is… get over it. He’s really, really good.”

Cowherd’s High Praise of Bo Nix

Cowherd’s praise wasn’t casual or reactionary.

He framed Nix as a quarterback whose growth, command, and production have reached a level that demands acknowledgment, especially with Denver now sitting at 12-2.

According to Cowherd, the Broncos’ success isn’t just about scheme or roster construction; it’s about trust.

“The whole playbook is available to him because they trust him,” Cowherd said, pointing to how head coach Sean Payton has empowered Nix to operate the offense without training wheels.

Cowherd even shared a personal anecdote, saying Payton has been confident in Nix for years.

“Bo Nix and Sean Payton carved up this Green Bay defense,” Cowherd said. “Sean Payton has been texting me for two years that ‘I got myself a star.’”

Bo Nix Career Game in Win Over Packers

Bo Nix delivered one of the most complete games of his career.

He threw four touchdown passes against a Packers defense that had not allowed a single quarterback to hit that mark over the last two seasons.

Nix completed by 23 of 34 passes for 302 yards and had a QB rating of 134.7.

He was great at pushing the ball downfield, finishing 8 of 12 on deep throws while also coming up clutch in big moments.

Nix was also very effective on third and fourth down, consistently extending drives and keeping Denver in control of the game in late stages.

“I don’t know what else he needs to do to impress people,” Cowherd repeated. “He’s really, really good.”

The numbers continue to back up Cowherd’s statement.

Nix currently ranks top five in wins among NFL quarterbacks and top six in total touchdowns , a combination that underscores both team success and individual impact.

The efficiency and situational command show why Payton has expanded the offense around him.

Cowherd is one of many sports analysts beginning to finally understand just how good Bo Nix has been.
