Conor McGregor claims he has agreed a boxing exhibition fight with Logan Paul in India.

The 36-year-old has not fought competitively since suffering back-to-back defeats in UFC to Dustin Poirier in 2021.

Last month, McGregor was ordered to pay more than €248,000 (£206,000) in damages to Nikita Hand after a 12-person jury in Dublin found he had assaulted her in a hotel after a party in 2018.

McGregor has also been ordered to pay the entire legal costs of the civil case, estimated at €1.5 million (£1.24m).

The Irish mixed martial arts fighter has been dropped by multiple companies since losing the civil case, including Proximo Spirits, the owner of Irish whiskey brand Proper No. 12.

McGregor has denied rumours of a comeback fight against Ilia Topuria, a Georgian and Spanish professional mixed martial artist, and has revealed that he plans to return with an exhibition fight against Logan Paul.

‘The rumours of a bout with [Topuria] are false,’ McGregor wrote on X on Tuesday.

‘I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambrani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India. I have agreed.’

‘I will then seek my return to the Octagon.’

Logan Paul has had two professional boxing fights in his career so far. He beat retired MMA fighter Dillon Danis in 2023 and lost to fellow YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI in 2019.

The 29-year-old also faced former world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr in an exhibition fight in 2021.

Paul has also starred in WWE, although last week he claimed he has now’retired’ from professional wrestling.

Paul’s younger brother, Jake, beat Mike Tyson in their fight which was streamed live on Netflix last month.
