Cops launch manhunt after Switzerland team ROBBED in Euro 2024 hotel before Italy clash in round of 16

POLICE are hunting a man who robbed laptops from Switzerland’s hotel at the Euros.

Murat Yakin’s side conceded a stoppage-time equaliser against Germany on Sunday night as they had to settle for a 1-1 draw and second place in Group A.

And they have now become the victims of a robbery after a man took three of their laptops.

Swiss scout Sascha Stauch and his team are in Germany analysing data ahead of their country’s last-16 clash against Italy.

But they have now seen some of their technology stolen from their hotel.

Swiss Football Association member Adrian Arnold said: “I can confirm that three laptops belonging to SFV employees were stolen in the hotel and the police were informed.”

He went on to add: “The data is not something we need directly for precise analysis in the tournament.

“If it was an attack on the Swiss national team’s data, it was an attack on the wrong team.”

According to BILD, surveillance cameras recorded at least one alleged suspect.

Hotel boss Harriet Eversmeyer said: “Of course we are cooperating with the responsible police authorities, to whom the photo and video material was immediately handed over.”

Switzerland followed up a 3-1 win over Hungary with successive draws against Scotland and Germany.

They will now face Italy in the second round and could meet England in the quarter-finals if Gareth Southgate‘s men win their group and advance to the last eight.

The Swiss have only reached the quarter-finals at the Euros once before – last time out three years ago when they stunned France before losing to Spain on penalties.
