Courtland Sutton’s Stats Prove He’s an Elite Fantasy Football WR

Courtland Sutton has officially entered the elite tier of NFL wide receivers, both on the field and in fantasy football.

After an offseason filled with questions about his long-term future in Denver, Sutton has silenced every doubt with consistent, high-impact performances.

Over his last 17 games, the Broncos’ star wideout has totaled 92 catches, 1,261 yards, and nine touchdowns, production that ranks among the NFL’s best.

As Mile High Huddle’s Carl Dumler noted, “When given a good play-caller and a quarterback who isn’t a bottom-tier guy, [Sutton] can actually shine at a level closer to the top wide receivers in the NFL.”

After years of passing game inconsistency in Denver, Sutton is thriving under Sean Payton and with quarterback Bo Nix.

A Fantasy Football Must Start

In fantasy football, Sutton’s transformation has been just as dramatic.

Since his breakout stretch began, he’s averaging over 16 PPR points per game, putting him in the WR1 range for most formats.

He’s also become a fixture in the red zone, ranking near the top of the league in contested catches and end-zone targets.

While some fantasy managers were disappointed by Courtland Sutton’s quiet performance in London against the Jets, there’s no reason to panic.

Sutton remains an absolute must-start this week in a favorable matchup against the New York Giants.

That London game looks more like an outlier than a trend. Before that, Sutton posted fantasy outings of 18.1, 25.8, 19.1, and 17.1 points, showing the kind of consistent WR1 production that’s hard to find.

Quarterback Bo Nix and the entire Denver offense struggled to find rhythm overseas, but they’re expected to bounce back strong at home.

The Giants’ defense has improved recently, but they’re still giving up the third-most fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers.

Sutton Leading the Broncos’ Turnaround

After years of offensive inconsistency, Denver finally has a go-to weapon again and a receiver that Bo Nix can trust.

In the Broncos’ Week 5 win over the Eagles, Sutton repeatedly beat standout corner Quinyon Mitchell, hauling in several clutch catches to extend drives and was a huge part of Denver’s comeback win.

“Ever since that game against the Saints last year when he didn’t record a catch, Sutton’s been on a tear,” Dumler added. “He’s been the one guy the Broncos can count on every single week.”

Head coach Sean Payton also praised Sutton’s consistency, saying after a recent win that while the team would be “upset” reviewing the offense, it’s because expectations are higher now.

That quote sums up just how far Sutton has elevated the standard in Denver.

The Broncos signed him to a four-year, $92 million extension this offseason, a deal some criticized as risky or an overpay.

It now looks like one best-value contracts in the entire league.

Dumler pointed out that “Sutton’s playing above his pay grade… he’s outproducing receivers making $5 to $6 million more per year.”
