Cowboys-Commanders Final Injury Report: CeeDee Lamb Returns, Terry McLaurin Out

The Dallas Cowboys received much-needed good news ahead of Sunday’s Week 7 matchup against the Washington Commanders. After a string of recent injuries, the Cowboys’ final practice report revealed several key players are expected to return to the field at AT&T Stadium.

While cornerback Trevon Diggs remains out after suffering a mysterious concussion in an at-home accident on Thursday night, Dallas will get back wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, linebacker Jack Sanborn, and rookie right guard Tyler Booker. Receiver Kavontae Turpin, who missed time with a foot injury, is also cleared to play.

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer said the team feels “encouraged” heading into the weekend. “We’ve been hit with a few tough breaks, but we’ve got some key guys coming back at the right time,” Schottenheimer said Friday. “This group has stayed focused and locked in.”

The Commanders, sitting at 3-3, will be short-handed heading into Sunday’s divisional battle. Star wide receiver Terry McLaurin has officially been ruled out with a quad injury, and fellow receiver Deebo Samuel is questionable due to a heel issue that has lingered for two weeks.

Depth receiver Noah Brown has been placed on injured reserve, further thinning Washington’s receiving group. That leaves quarterback Jayden Daniels with a limited arsenal as he faces a Cowboys defense looking to bounce back from a disappointing outing.

NBC Sports Washington’s JP Finlay noted that the Commanders’ offensive depth is being tested. “This is the most beat-up this wide receiver group has been all season,” Finlay said Friday. “If Samuel can’t go, Daniels will have to rely heavily on Luke McCaffrey and Chris Moore.”

Here’s the Commanders’ final injury report for Week 7:

Out:

  • WR Terry McLaurin (quad)

Questionable:

  • DE Dorance Armstrong (hamstring)
  • G Sam Cosmi (knee)
  • TE Zach Ertz (shoulder)
  • CB Jonathan Jones (hamstring)
  • WR Deebo Samuel (heel)

No Designation (expected to play):

  • QB Jayden Daniels (knee)
  • LB Ale Kaho (illness)
  • RB Chris Rodriguez (calf)

Head coach Dan Quinn said the team remains confident despite the setbacks. “We’ve been dealing with injuries all season, but no one in this locker room is making excuses,” Quinn said. “We trust our next guys up.”

The Commanders are coming off a 25-24 loss to the Chicago Bears after a last-second field goal. Dallas is currently listed as a 1.5-point favorite, according to SportsLine via CBS, consensus odds, with the over/under set at 54.5 points. The Cowboys are -125 moneyline favorites, while the Commanders sit at +105.

Kickoff for Commanders vs. Cowboys is set for 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX. The game will also stream on Fubo, with live updates available through the CBS Sports app.
