Cowboys Get Bad News on Trade for Raiders Star Maxx Crosby
The Dallas Cowboys have expressed interest in acquiring a defensive difference-maker like Maxx Crosby, but the Las Vegas Raiders have made it clear they have no plans to part ways with their star pass rusher.
Rumors have started to heat up in recent days linking Crosby — who has 63.5 career sacks — to the Cowboys. But Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported that the Raiders do not plan to shop Crosby, despite their 2-5 record.
“The Raiders met with star DE Maxx Crosby today to let him know they aren’t shopping him and won’t trade him,” Pelissero wrote on X. “While other teams are interested, the Raiders aren’t interested in moving their best player, and Crosby wants to stay in Las Vegas.”
Pelissero added, “Nobody wants to win more than Maxx Crosby, and he wants to do it with the Raiders. Despite various rumors with the trade deadline 2 weeks away, the face of the franchise isn’t leaving Las Vegas.”
Earlier in the day, Trey Wingo reported that the Cowboys had explored a potential trade for Crosby. While Dallas may have shown legitimate interest in making a move, the Raiders appear to have shut down any discussions regarding their star pass rusher.
Cowboys ‘In Good Shape’ to Make Big Trade
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stunned the NFL by trading Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers ahead of the season. In return, Dallas landed defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two future first-round picks — in 2026 and 2027 — giving the team valuable assets to reshape their roster.
Following the trade, Parsons signed a four-year, $188 million deal with Green Bay that includes $120 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in league history.
Jones has been vocal about the fact that by not keeping Parsons around on a record-setting deal, the Cowboys are in a good position to make a move.
“If there were a trade, it will be because it fits us,” Jones said during an appearance on 105.3 The Fan. “And to fit, it’s got to be a reason why the player would leave that we’re interested in going forward with, and it would have to fit us in terms of our plans on our roster, the financial and everything that goes with that.
