The Dallas Cowboys have finally had some injury luck go their way on the offensive line.
Over the past few days, the Cowboys have been hit with an unprecedented array of ailments from the unit.
First, right tackle Terrence Steele went down with a high ankle sprain last week.

Then, on Sunday, guard Robert Jones broke a bone in his neck, mere hours after leaping ahead of first round rookie, Tyler Booker.
And now on Monday, Tyler Guyton – who is expected to be the starter at left tackle for the Cowboys this season – walked gingerly off the field after going down, with many in the building subsequently believing he had torn his ACL after initial testing.
Updated: Preliminary tests indicate Tyler Guyton may have suffered a torn ACL in right knee, per source. If MRI confirms the diagnosis, he would miss the season and require surgery. Would be second OL the Cowboys have lost in as many days.

However, after the results officially came through, it turns out that the former Oklahoma standout’s ACL is – thankfully – intact, and that he instead has a bone fracture that should keep him out for just over a month.
Tyler Guyton’s ACL is intact after a MRI, according to a source. He has a bone fracture and will not require surgery. Looking at a 4-6 week recovery. Cowboys get better than expected news.

Cowboys Thankful For ‘Better Than’ Expected News
Four to six weeks is still an extended layoff that could well see him miss the start of the regular season in early September. But compared to an ACL tear that would have – in all likelihood – ended his 2025 season, both Guyton and Cowboys will be very glad with the bone fracture diagnosis.
Rehab is always a little trickier for the big boys, especially someone like Guyton, who at 6’8 ranks as one of the physically largest players in the National Football League, but if all goes well the team should be able to have their young, talented lineman back for the majority of this season.
What Will The Cowboys’ Offensive Line Look Like In 2025?
After a 2024 season that saw the offensive line perform worse than it had done over the majority of the past few seasons, Jerry Jones added guards, the rookie Booker, and Dolphins free agent, Jones, in addition to placing his faith in Guyton to have a second year bump, after a rocky debut year.
Guyton still has the opportunity to do that, but for the moment his job will go to 2023 fifth round pick, Asim Richards, or perhaps Dallas will choose to shift All-Pro guard, Tyler Smith, to tackle, and insert TJ Bass or Brock Hoffman at guard.
