After missing Week 5 due to injury, Dallas Cowboys LT Tyler Guyton should be good to go on Sunday against the Panthers. He suffered a concussion against the Packers back in Week 4 and did not play against the Jets in Week 5, but he was listed as a full participant in Thursday’s practice, signalling he’ll be ready to suit up in Week 6.
For the Cowboys, it’s a great sign for a banged-up offensive line. Guyton, a first-round pick in 2024, is in his second year starting at left tackle in Dallas. The Oklahoma product was billed as a developmental prospect pre-draft, but he impressed the Cowboys staff last summer and was named the starter coming out of training camp. He’s manned the left tackle spot since.
Without Guyton, the Cowboys turned to Nathan Thomas against the Jets. Starting center Cooper Beebe is currently on Injured Reserve (IR) and starting guards Tyler Smith and Tyler Booker are dealing with injuries of their own. Getting Guyton back is a huge boost.
The Dallas Cowboys’ Injury Report is an Extensive One

Guyton isn’t the only Cowboy listed on Thursday’s practice report. As mentioned, Tyler Booker is dealing with an ankle injury and has not practiced yet this week, and Tyler Smith has a knee injury and has been limited in practice this week.
Additionally, WR CeeDee Lamb (ankle), ED Dante Fowler (illness), LB Jack Sanborn (concussion), RB Miles Sanders (knee/ankle), and WR KaVontae Turpin (foot) were all listed as non-participants in Thursday’s practice. CB DaRon Bland (shoulder), ED Jadeveon Clowney (hip), CB Trevon Diggs (knee), OT Ajani Cornelius (knee/knee), ED James Houston (knee), ED Marshawn Kneeland (ankle), S Donovan Wilson (elbow/knee), and S Juanyeh Thomas (ankle) were all listed as limited participants.
LB Kenneth Murray (knee) and ED Sam Williams (shoulder) were full participants in practice. CB Caelen Carson (knee) and WR Jonathan Mingo (knee) are both working their way back from IR and are currently in the 21-day practice window. Mingo did not participate on Thursday after being a full participant on Wednesday, and Carson has now stacked back-to-back days as a full participant.
After a Rocky Start, the Dallas Cowboys Can Rebound Quickly
Through five weeks, the Cowboys are 2-2-1, with wins over the Giants and Jets. They gave the Eagles a tough fight in Week 1 and tied the Packers in an emotional Week 4 game, but they did lose in embarrassing fashion on the road in Chicago in Week 3.
Despite the up-and-down season so far, Dallas is in prime position for a playoff run. The Cowboys face a fairly reasonable schedule over the next five games, with their opponents being the Panthers, Commanders, Broncos, Cardinals, and Raiders. If they can go 3-2 or better during that stretch, it’ll put them in a competitive position as they enter the tough stretch run of their season after that.
