The Dallas Cowboys have just suffered another injury blow to their offensive line, as left tackle, Tyler Guyton, reportedly went down with an injury on Monday afternoon, per Cowboys reporter, Calvin Watkins.

However, he was able to walk off the field of his own volition, albeit slowly.

Guyton Not Out Of The Woods Despite Being Able To Walk Off
At this point, there has been no update on the severity of Guyton’s injury. It is undoubtedly good news that the former Oklahoma man was able to walk off without need for a stretcher – like in the Jets quarterback, Justin Fields was last week – or with the assistance of multiple other people
But that does not rule out the fact that he may still have suffered a potentially serious injury – especially as the adrenaline in the moment may have reduced the extent of Guyton’s pain. And, indeed, pain levels do not always fully correlate with injury severity and layoff time.
The team will likely do scans and x-rays later on Monday to gather more information on the injury, as the both the team and Guyton hope for the best.
The Cowboys Could Be Down Multiple Starting Offensive Linemen Already
This injury follows unfortunate news that the team received just yesterday, when new free agent acquisition, Robert Jones, broke a bone in his neck on Sunday, and is now expected to miss 2-3 months of action, per Adam Schefter.
Sources: Cowboys guard Rob Jones, who has been working with the starting unit during the early part of training camp, broke a bone in his neck during Sundayâs practice and now is expected to miss 2-3 months, per @toddarcher and me.

To make matters worse for Jones, this happened right after he took an unexpected lead in the race for the right guard position, ahead of this year’s 12th overall pick, Tyler Booker.
Now with Jones out, Booker will be in poll position to take advantage of that vacant roll. But for the Cowboys, they now could have two missing potential starters on what was already a suspect offensive line in 2024.
Guyton did not quite have the rookie season he would have wanted, having been pulled from the lineup in multiple games last season over performance issues, garnering just a 49.4 grade from Pro Football Focus – grading out as the 115th out of 140 qualifying tackles.
Whilst there was chatter that the Cowboys could potentially have competition for the left tackle spot this offseason, with versatile offensive lineman, Asim Richards contending alongside the 6’8, 322 lb behemoth, it was always expected – and on Dallas’ end, desired – that Guyton win the job.
Hopefully for both Dallas and Guyton, this is not a long-term hit.
