Croatia 2 Albania 2: Plucky underdogs score dramatic late equaliser after calamity own-goal to leave Croats on the brink

CROATIA are still yet to get their first victory of Euro 2024 after drawing to Albania.

Zlatko Dalic’s ageing Croatia side didn’t have enough in the tank to hold on to a 2-1 lead, conceding an equaliser in added time.

The Croatians went 1-0 down after just 11 minutes thanks to a goal from Qazim Laci.

But a second half blitz turns things around as Andrej kramaric’s 74th minute goal was compounded by a calamitous Klaus Gjasula own goal just two minutes later.

Croatia then tried to weather a storm in the dying embers and ultimately their flood defenced couldn’t stop a 95th minute equalise from Klaus Gjasula.
