Palace are willing to trade the ex-Celtic hitman, 26, who has slipped down the pecking order — but would need a replacement lined up sharpish.

Eagles keeper Joe Whitworth, 20, is close to a loan with Exeter for the season.

Edouard is entering the final year of his contract this summer, having signed from Celtic in 2021.

He scored twice on his Premier League debut against Tottenham three years ago but has struggled for minutes under Oliver Glasner.

Since Glasner’s first match as Palace boss in February, Edouard has not started a single fixture for the club.

A single strike during that period saw him end the campaign with seven league goals.

However, he ended the campaign behind Jean-Philippe Mateta in the pecking order and is now expected to depart this summer.

As for Whitworth, he signed a new deal through to 2027 in January 2023.

The youngster has only made two first-team appearances for his boyhood club, though.

Whitworth featured in defeats to Brighton and Arsenal in March 2023 but has not appeared since.

He is now set to move to League One, where Exeter are competing for a third consecutive season following a 13th placed finish last term.

Palace have also been busy with incoming so far this summer as well as working on potential departures.

Moroccan centre-back Chadi Riad has already joined the club from Real Betis.

Meanwhile, Daichi Kamada is expected to arrive on a free transfer from Lazio having previously worked with Glasner at Frankfurt.
