Draymond Green Sends Message to Warriors Fans Amid Struggles

The Golden State Warriors are currently struggling with a below .500 record, but Draymond Green has a confident message to their fanbase. Green isn’t feeling too worried despite winning just four of their last 10 games, including back-to-back losses to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Portland Trail Blazers.

Speaking on The Draymond Green Show, the Warriors star forward broke down what is wrong with the team amid their struggles. He took some blame due to his turnovers and the defense being subpar. However, he wants Warriors fans to remain patient because they are going to get things done on the court soon.

“I think we’re more than capable of cleaning it up. We’re right there. A lot of these games are right there, and we’re just losing them at the end. We’ve got two guys (Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler) that are closers. We are more than capable of figuring it out, and we will figure it out,” Green said, via NBC Sports Bay Area.

Curry needs some help after scoring 39 points against the Timberwolves and 48 points against the Blazers, but the Warriors still lost both games.

Steve Kerr Confirms Starting Lineup Moving Forward

One of Draymond Green’s biggest gripes last season was that his body could no longer sustain playing center in Steve Kerr’s small ball lineup. Kerr was also open to playing bigger lineups, though they brought in an undersized center in Al Horford in free agency.

Due to injuries and other factors, like Jonathan Kuminga playing well, Kerr was unable to use his planned starting five for the season often. But now that everyone is nearly fully healthy, he has confirmed his starting lineup moving forward will feature Steph Curry, Moses Moody, Jimmy Butler, Green and Quinten Post.

“There’s also the idea that we want to play bigs more and not have Draymond at the five too often because it’s pretty taxing. So it’s a lineup that we probably will get to more often, but between the injuries and just different people stepping up and playing well and wanting to reward those guys, we haven’t gotten to that lineup as often as we’d like,” Kerr told reporters after Wednesday’s practice.

It will be interesting to see if Kerr sticks with this lineup if they continue losing games. They play the Phoenix Suns twice in three days, starting on Thursday at the Chase Center.

Green Explains Kerr’s Inconsistent Rotation

While the Golden State Warriors’ fan base is frustrated with Steve Kerr’s inconsistent rotation, Draymond Green continues to preach patience. Green explained that the erratic rotation is due to the lack of success the Warriors are getting, so Kerr is still looking for the right one.

“You have to find what works first, and again, we’re still figuring that out. It’s still early, only 27 games in, plenty of time, but you want to make the corrections now rather than later. You don’t want to put yourself up against the eight-ball. Make the corrections now, and we can get through those things,” Green said, via NBC Sports Bay Area.

The Warriors enter Thursday’s game against the Phoenix Suns at 13-14, with the Memphis Grizzlies right behind them. With the season close to the midway point, Golden State fans have the right to question what is happening.
