Dre’Mont Jones Sends Strong Message After Trade to Ravens

One day before the NFL trade deadline, the Tennessee Titans traded defensive end Dre’Mont Jones to the Baltimore Ravens.

After the deal became official, Jones took to social media to share his thoughts — showing gratitude to the Titans organization and fans while making his excitement about joining the Ravens unmistakable.

Dre’Mont Jones Thanks Titans, Sends Message About Rookie QB Cam Ward

Jones handled his departure with class, taking a moment to acknowledge the Titans and rookie quarterback Cam Ward before turning the page.

“The NFL is too crazy lol,” Jones wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Thank you Titans family I loved and appreciated my short time in Nashville too much. Cam is the truth too y’all give ‘em time, he can be great! I’m ready to be Raven rocking that purple and black! #RavensFlock.”

Jones’ message about Ward struck a chord with Titans fans. The rookie quarterback has endured a rocky start to his first NFL season, struggling behind an inconsistent offensive line. But Jones, who practiced with him daily, made his belief in the 23-year-old clear.

Jones quickly became one of Tennessee’s most productive players in 2025. He started all nine games and tied with Jeffery Simmons for the team lead in sacks with 4.5. Though his time in Nashville was brief, his impact was felt on and off the field.

The newest Baltimore Raven joined the Titans on a one-year deal after spending two seasons with the Seattle Seahawks and four with the Denver Broncos. His move to Baltimore marks his fourth NFL team — and, by his own words, a new chapter he’s ready to embrace.

Ravens Get High Marks for Adding the Defensive End

The Ravens’ trade for Jones earned widespread praise across the league. Baltimore general manager Eric DeCosta filled a glaring need for a pass rusher, acquiring a player who’s not only productive but in the midst of one of his best career stretches.

CBS Sports’ Bryan DeArdo gave the move an “A” grade, writing, “With 11 sacks in eight games, Baltimore desperately needed to bolster its pass rush. The Ravens not only got that with Jones, they also got a player who appears to be in the middle of a career year. The cherry on top is that the Ravens didn’t have to give up one of their top picks in next year’s draft to acquire him.”

Sports Illustrated’s Gilberto Manzano gave the trade a “B,” noting that the Ravens’ front office has rebounded impressively from its 1-5 start. “Not only can Jones rush the passer, he’s capable of playing on the inside,” Manzano wrote. “It’s wild how well Baltimore has recovered from its start, and GM Eric DeCosta deserves a ton of credit for making the necessary moves to give this team a fighting chance to make a playoff push.”

Jones has recorded at least 3.5 sacks in each of his seven NFL seasons, with a career-high 6.5 sacks in both 2020 and 2022 while with the Broncos. His 4.5 sacks this year — all coming in the last four games — made him one of the Titans’ few defensive bright spots.

The Ravens take on the Minnesota Vikings in Week 10.
