Eagles ‘Deserve to Be Humiliated’ After Historic Loss to Cowboys

If you want to start ranking the worst parts of the Philadelphia Eagles blowing a 21-0 lead against the Dallas Cowboys in a 24-21 Week 12 loss, it’s probably going to take awhile. Because a lot of things went wrong.

Like … almost everything.

It was the type of embarrassing loss that might serve to either torpedo Philadelphia’s season, like what happened in 2023, or inject some much needed life into the team as the Eagles try to win another Super Bowl.

“(The Eagles) deserve this,” Eagles Fan Central wrote on its official X account after the loss to the Cowboys. “They deserve to be humiliated. They’ve been putting forth embarrassing efforts most of the season and have gotten away with it. Now they can’t hide behind ‘well we still won’ … Time to put some feet to the fire. This isn’t acceptable.”

The Eagles dropped to 8-3 overall with the win and have a short week before hosting the Chicago Bears on Friday, November 28, in a game that could very well end up determining the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoffs.

In the wake of the loss to the Cowboys — and an epic crash out by Eagles fans online — most of the blame seemed to be directed toward the offense.

Eagles Fans Really, Really Don’t Like Kevin Patullo

The one person who seemed to be the focus of the most vitriol from Eagles fans online was first year offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo.

Patullo was promoted from his position as associate head coach and quarterbacks coach after last season’s offensive coordinator, Kellen Moore, was hired as head coach of the New Orleans Saints.

The Eagles scored all 21 points in the first half against the Cowboys but were blanked in the second half against a refurbished Cowboys defense.

“I’m not delusional… I love my Birds… But the Eagles are not a Super Bowl team,” Eagles fan Rob Hodge wrote on X. “Kevin Patullo should’ve been fired a month ago. The O-Line is mediocre. This is a poorly coached team. Jalen Hurts & Saquon is playing MID this season. It is what it is… “

“Eagles can’t win a Super Bowl with the current offensive constellation,” Bleacher Report’s Thomas Petersen wrote on his official X account. “The sooner Howie (Roseman) realizes that, the more time there is to act and adapt. The time for patience and observation is over.”

“No excuse whatsoever for the Eagles offense to not score a point in the final 41:30 vs one of the worst defenses in the league,” ESPN’s Kevin Negandhi wrote on X. “None.”

“Over the Eagles final 7 possessions they went 3 and out 3 times, gained just over 100 total yards, and scored 0 points against the 31st ranked scoring defense in the NFL,” Eagles Pin Pull’s Shane Haff wrote on his official X account. “This is why I’ve been talking about the Eagles offense for 2 months now. It’s a disaster that isn’t getting better and just cost them a game against the worst defense they will face the rest of the season.”

“There is plenty to blame with the creativity and adjustments in Patullo‘s offense and play calling, but the offensive coordinator can’t control the ineptitude of his offensive line this season,” former CBS Sports reporter Jeff Kerr wrote on his official X account. “The Eagles offensive line hasn’t been good the majority of the year and it bit them on Sunday.”
