Eagles Face ‘Chaos’ After WR A.J. Brown’s Latest Social Media Crash Out

It’s fair to say, at this point, being teammates with Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown means taking the good with the bad and learning to live with it.

The good? Brown is one of just a handful of elite NFL wide receivers who gives his team a chance to win whenever he’s on the field.

The bad? Brown is one of the NFL’s handful of elite wide receivers, which also makes him an unrepentant diva unafraid to split the locker room up with a single social media post.

Brown’s latest crash out came via Instagram on October 21, when Brown posted “Using Me But Not Using Me” after he had 4 receptions for 121 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 28-22 win over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 7.

“With Brown, the Eagles live in turmoil, they live in chaos,” ESPN analyst and Super Bowl champion offensive lineman Jeff Saturday said on “Get Up” on October 22. “This is a house that exists in chaos … being his teammate, you might be able to tune him out, but being (head coach) Nick Sirianni or (offensive coordinator) Kevin Patullo must be a nightmare.”

ESPN’s Domonique Foxworth tried to make room for Brown’s personal life possibly being the inspiration for the post, although in a somewhat joking manner.

“Maybe somebody in his family asked him for money?” Foxworth said, laughing. “Look, football has a sorting mechanism for everyone. Every week is a referendum on the Eagles and their quarterback, and doing stuff like (the post) is always putting the target on Jalen Hurts, for better or worse.”

Most Complaints By NFL Divas About Money

While Brown’s outbursts in real life and social media have become commonplace since he arrived in Philadelphia via a trade from the Tennessee Titans before the 2022 season, it’s never not surprising a star player on the defending Super Bowl champions always has so much to complain about.

For Brown, what makes things even more confusing is that in most cases, when a player is complaining or making waves like this it’s usually about money.

This can’t really be the case with Brown, who signed a 3-year, $96 million contract extension before last season that keeps him under contract through 2029.

Second Social Media Crash Out for Brown in 2025

The most curious thing about Brown’s pair of crash outs this season is that they’ve both come after games the Eagles won. Which has also happened in the past.

“If you’re not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw,” Brown wrote on his official X account following a 31-25 road win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4. “Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way.”

Brown eventually apologized for the post, although even that came with a blatant lie that the post wasn’t directed at anyone despite the Eagles not completing a pass in the second half against Tampa Bay.

“Obviously, Sunday after the game I let my frustrations boil over … That’s on me,” Brown said on September 30. “I take full accountability on that … My message on Twitter wasn’t directed at anyone in the building … Like I said, I take full accountability.”
