Ollie Robinson etched his name into cricket’s record books for all the wrong reasons after he conceded an astonishing 43 runs in one over.

The Sussex seamer endured a morning to forget as Leicestershire’s Louis Kimber feasted on Robinson’s wayward bowling.

England international Robinson conceded five sixes – three of which were off no-balls – three fours and a single as Louis Kimber helped himself to a glut of runs.

Robinson is hoping to play a significant role for his country this summer, especially given the impending retirement of Jimmy Anderson.

The international selectors and England skipper Ben Stokes will no doubt have been concerned, however, to see Robinson looking so off the pace on the fourth and final day Sussex’s Division Two match.

Surrey’s Alex Tudor conceded 38 runs in an over to Lancashire’s Andrew Flintoff in 1998 – a mark equalled earlier this week by Surrey’s Dan Lawrence off the bowling of England team-mate Shoaib Bashir.

Only 24 hours earlier, Robinson had been picked up by Trent Rockets as one of 32 Wildcards for this year’s Hundred, having previously featured for Manchester Originals and Northern Superchargers.
