The Philadelphia Eagles could be getting a major boost from a familiar face. Multiple NFL insiders are reporting that former Eagles star defender Brandon Graham is considering a return to the Eagles after retiring this offseason.
“Sources to me and (Ian Rapoport): Eagles legend Brandon Graham is mulling a return to the team and has spoken to the organization about coming out of retirement in the near future,” NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo detailed in an October 19, 2025, message on X.
“For a team that needs edge rush and leadership, Graham’s return would be welcomed. Could be soon.”
Graham accumulated nearly $98 million in earning during his NFL career, per Spotrac. Now, Graham could add a little bit more to that number if the defender rejoins the Eagles for the team’s stretch run.
Brandon Graham Has Been Working Out to Potentially End Retirement to Rejoin the Eagles: Report
It would be a low-risk move for the Eagles, but it is fair to wonder how much of an impact Graham can make. The two-time Super Bowl champ missed all of training camp and the first half of the NFL season.
NBC Philadelphia’s John Clark reported that Graham has been working out in preparation for a potential NFL return.
“Sources confirm that Brandon Graham is in play for a possible comeback,” Clark detailed in an October 19, message on X. “I’m told he has been working out every day over the last month to get in shape.
“I think it’s happening! There is interest with the Eagles and BG in returning to help the team. There has been talks for weeks. There are family considerations.”
Eagles Legend Jason Kelce on Brandon Graham: ‘It Felt Like He Got Convinced That It Was Time to Hang It Up’
Count Eagles legend Jason Kelce among those who see Graham’s potential NFL return happening. Kelce is skeptical that Graham wanted to retire this offseason.
“They’ve been banged up on the edge, banged up with Nolan Smith,” Kelce told Philadelphia’s SportsRadio 94WIP, per Yahoo Sports. “They would benefit from having his physicality and the way he plays defensive end on the field. Outside of that, I only want Brandon Graham to play football if he wants to play football. I don’t think when he retired he fully wanted to stop playing football.
“It felt like he got convinced that it was time to hang it up. And I don’t know this, I think at the end of the day if Brandon in his heart wants to come back, I think the Eagles should damn sure give him that opportunity because I think they need that.”
Eagles Rumors: Philadelphia Exploring Potential NFL Trades for Defensive Help
Even if Graham returns, it would not be a surprise if the Eagles make additional moves ahead of the NFL trade deadline. The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported that the Eagles are exploring potential trades for pass rushers and cornerbacks.
“The Eagles are in search of help at edge rusher and cornerback,” Russini wrote in an October 18, story titled, “What I’m hearing on NFL trade deadline intel, the coaching carousel and Baker Mayfield.” “They have received calls on A.J. Brown, and teams are being told, ‘We aren’t moving him now.’”
