And we revealed yesterday the Belgian international Batshuayi is set to sign for their bitter rivals Galatasaray.

However, his wife Amely Maria has now posted a message on her Instagram story claiming that her family have been subjected to both racist messages and death threats.

She wrote: “When you don’t know what’s going on in the shadows, don’t point fingers at the innocent.

“The real culprits are those who don’t take responsibility.”

Amely added: “Shame on those who threaten my family and wish death on my child for football, and you dare to talk to me about family? What a shame!!!

“Racism and death threats? God sees you all.”

Batshuayi joined Fenerbahce two years ago and has scored 44 goals in 75 games for them.

But both he and the club suffered disappointment last year when they missed out on the Super Lig title by three points.

Galatasaray pipped Fenerbache to top spot and they are now close to pinching Batshuayi.

The ex-Crystal Palace forward is set to put pen to paper on a three-year deal worth £50,000 a week.

Batshuayi has already played for the other Istanbul giant, Besiktas, and scored 14 goals in 33 games when on loan from Chelsea in the 2021/22 season before signing for Fenerbahce.

The star sparked uproar last season with his late winner against Trabzonspor.

Opposition fans stormed the pitch in response and began to attack Fenerbahce stars, including Batshuayi.

He reacted by attempting a spinning kick on one supporter, with QPR star Bright Osayi-Samuel punching a fan to the ground.

Fenerbahce, who have just appointed Jose Mourinho as their new manager, threatened to quit the league over the chaos.
