Bruce Buffer recently opened up about his new exciting partnership with Bud Light that was made official. The veteran voice of the octagon joins the popular beer brand’s roster of partners, which already includes Dustin Poirier.
Bud Light, the UFC’s official beer sponsor, has long supported the promotion. Now, the brand joins forces with Buffer, a familiar face in the MMA community. The announcement of the partnership took place at UFC 320 last Saturday, where fans were the first to hear the news.
Buffer revealed the partnership during a special in-venue viewing of the brand’s ‘Announcer’s Announcer’ video. In the video, he introduced himself as the brand’s newest voice. His announcement carried the same energy and excitement as his UFC fighter introductions.
“Weighing in at none of your business, Bruce ‘The Newest Voice of Bud Light’ Buffer,” he said in Bud Light’s ‘Announcer’s Announcer’ video. “Rest assured, I’ll get the crew together for every fight night, along with a clean, crisp Bud Light.”
During an exclusive interview with Heavy Sports, Buffer expressed his excitement about the partnership. He stated that this was one of the significant announcements of his career.
“I’ve made a lot of big announcements, but this is probably one of the biggest announcements yet. Very excited to officially join and be a part of the Bud Light family,” Buffer said. “I’ve always enjoyed Bud Light. I’m going to represent Bud Light. I don’t represent a product unless I’m a product of the product, so I guess I’m a Bud Light guy now.”
He continued:
“I think it’s a win-win situation.”
Bruce Buffer Praises Bud Light
Bud Light, along with their parent company Anheuser-Busch, has had a strong relationship with the UFC for years. UFC CEO Dana White has frequently praised the company for its values in the past. He admires the initiatives they’re involved with aside from brewing their beer.
Buffer also praised the brand’s deep-rooted support of combat sports and its commitment to providing a top-notch fan experience. He spoke about the passion they have for UFC fighters and their dedication to make engaging with fans.
“Bud Light has always been a supporter and a champion of combat sports, and especially of the UFC,” Buffer told Heavy Sports. “It’s a passion for the sport, it’s a passion for the warrior that enter the octagon and put their blood, sweat, and tears on the line. And, Bud Light is part of the UFC experience.”
Anheuser-Busch’s Todd Allen Reacts to Partnership with Buffer
Todd Allen, senior vice president of Marketing at Anheuser-Busch, expressed his enthusiasm about the new partnership with Buffer.
In a press release, Allen shared his thoughts on Buffer joining. He emphasized that Buffer’s energy and charisma would help elevate the fan experience, something the beer brand has always prioritized.
“Buffer has gone to great lengths for UFC fans for nearly 30 years, playing a central role during some of the most epic moments in sports. As we continue delivering unparalleled experiences for UFC fans, partnering with Bruce was a no-brainer,” Allen said. “We’re channeling his energy with this partnership and can’t wait to answer the call for fans very soon.”
