Fans Blast Warriors for Wasting Steph Curry’s Masterpiece: “Major Change Needed”

The Golden State Warriors wasted another masterpiece performance from Steph Curry on Sunday. Curry dropped 48 points in the Warriors’ 136-131 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers at the Moda Center.

It’s now back-to-back defeats for the Warriors since Curry returned from a calf injury that caused him to miss five games. He had 39 points, five rebounds and five assists in Golden State’s 127-120 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves last Friday.

Against Portland, Curry dropped 48 points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals. He also knocked down 12 3-point shots, which was his fifth career game with at least 12 made shots from beyond the arc.

Fans React to Warriors Wasting Curry’s 48-Point Game

For the second game in a row, the Golden State Warriors failed to get the win despite Steph Curry’s big game. Warriors fans are unhappy on social media, commenting on what’s wrong with the team and who should be blamed for their struggles.

Some fans point to the front office, urging them to make some changes ahead of the trade deadline.

“It should not be all on Steph to carry the team. Major change needed starting from the coaches and several players!” a fan commented.

“Something gotta change quick,” one fan tweeted.

“Stop wasting Steph’s final years and get him some help,” another fan urged.

Others are blaming coach Steve Kerr for variety of reasons like his choice in personnel, rotations and more. Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green were also called out for not having the sense of urgency, something they preached a few weeks ago.

“I better see Steve Kerr and half these bums off the team by trade deadline,” a fan quipped.

“I’ll just say it. Draymond turnovers and refs lost us this game,” one fan claimed.

“Get Jimmy outta here man. He is not what we need lmao,” another fan pointed out.

Frustrations are boiling over because the Warriors dropped to 13-14 for the season after their loss to the Blazers. The Memphis Grizzlies and Dallas Mavericks are hot on their tail and have been playing better basketball compared to how they started the campaign.

Warriors Couldn’t Stop Blazers Big 3

One of the reasons why the Warriors lost to the Blazers was their inability to stop their three best scorers: Shaedon Sharpe, Jerami Grant and Deni Avdija. The Warriors allowed a total of 96 points to the three stars, with Sharpe and Grant scoring 35 each and Avdija finishing with 26 points.

The trio canceled Steph Curry’s 48-point night, with Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler not aggressive enough on offense. Green had 14 points on eight shots, while Butler finished with 16 points on 11 shots.

If the Warriors want to improve their chances of getting back in the win column, they have to get more out of their other stars and role players. Pat Spencer, who has been a revelation for Golden State, scored just two points in seven minutes.

The Warriors’ next task is a pair of games against the Phoenix Suns in a home-and-away series on December 18 and 20.
