Shaqir, 32, was played in by a wayward backpass from Anthony Ralston, but still had plenty of work to do from around 25 yards out.

The winger decided to take the shot on first time and curled the ball spectacularly into the top corner, with goalkeeper Angus Gunn given no hope of saving the strike.

But what followed led to laughter from some fans watching on.

Shaqiri sprinted over to the corner flag before performing a knee slide that ended up in disaster.

His knees got stuck in the ground and Shaqiri ended up flipping over, tearing up plenty of turf in the process.

He did not care at all as he celebrated with team-mates but viewers watching on found it rather amusing.

One reacted to the incident saying: “Shaqiri’s knee slide celebration didn’t go as plan”

Another added: “Great goal from Shaqiri, not much to say about the celebration though ”
