Former NFL Stars Blast 6-foot-8, 370-pound Ravens OL Daniel Faalele: ‘Big and Sorry’

Life in the NFL might be much more difficult for Baltimore Ravens offensive guard Daniel Faalele moving forward.

Faalele, 6-foot-8 and 370 pounds, was absolutely cooked by Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe and former NFL All-Pro wide receiver Chad Ochocinco following the Ravens’ 27-22 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 14.

It’s the kind of lambasting that doesn’t come around very often. In this case, it was well deserved.

“(Faalele) can’t block the sun out of his eyes, let alone a defensive lineman,” Sharpe said on The Nightcap Podcast on Sunday, December 7. “You shouldn’t be allowed to be that big and sorry. He’s as big as he is sorry … on film, he’s always at the scene of the crime … you going to hell if you told that man ‘Good Game’ at any point this year.”

The loss dropped the Ravens to 6-7 overall and was their second consecutive loss, and moving forward it’s hard to see how Faalele might fit into the lineup or even on the roster.

Confrontation Between Jackson, Faalele on Sideline

It even led to a rare emotional outburst from Ravens quarterback and 2-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson, who confronted Faalele on the sideline following an interception.

“You rarely see a QB chastise and single out one offensive lineman,” Ochocinco said. “Lamar must’ve been really frustrated.”

It’s a frustration Jackson shares with almost every Ravens fan in the world at this point. Faalele was drafted in the fourth round (No. 110 overall) in 2022 and became the full time starter at right guard in 2024, where he’s now started 31 consecutive games.

Social Media Revels in Faalele’s Public Shame

Faalele capped off his terrible game against the Steelers by not speaking to the media — never a good look.

Let’s also hope someone in his inner circle took away his phone, because social media was absolutely unsparing on Faalele and the man who puts him on the field every week — Ravens head coach John Harbaugh.

“Daniel Faalele is just a few steps away from being the worst offensive lineman in Ravens history,” Ravens reporter Pedro Rhormes wrote on his official X account. “And that’s saying something, considering we once had Alejandro Villanueva on the field.”

“Daniel Faalele is the worst lineman in the league, the guy weighs 400 pounds and he looks like he does not know what to do every play,” Ravens YouTuber Pro Trapper wrote on X. “The guy seriously should have been benched weeks ago. This is on Harbuagh. Fire John Harbuagh.”

“(The Nightcap) is the most satisfying hate watch of how ASS Daniel Faalele is,” Ravens fan account Deli Flock wrote on X. “FINALLY someone in the media is addressing the liability this man has been ‘cuz Ravens fans have been screaming it from the rooftops all season.”

“We’ve been screaming for two years how bad Daniel Faalele is,” Fire John Harbaugh wrote on X. Sorry not sorry. Harbs set you up man and he’s continuing to just let you be set up and my QB is taking the hits because of it … I’m fed up, Ravens.”
