FANS slammed the French open after Alexander Zverev was “robbed” during a controversial call during his final against Carlos Alcaraz.
The incident came in the fifth set when Zverev looked to have broken Alcaraz back to 2-2.

Alcaraz appeared to have double faulted on his second serve with Zverev confident that the ball had gone out.
But the umpire overruled the call which left Zverev fuming.
Zverev was seen remonstrating with the umpire as he argued his case, and hawk eye data showed he was right to do so.
Imagery released by the technology showed that the ball was out by two millimetres.
Hawkeye is not used at the French Open and is set to be introduced in the tournament in 2025.
Alcaraz maintained the momentum from the call and went on to win the set 6-2.
He secured his first French open crown with a 6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 victory in four hours and 19 minutes.
The Spaniard had to be treated for cramp during the gruelling final – where he had to stretch every sinew to beat Zverev.

The fourth game in the fifth set left a sour taste for the German, with him commenting after the game: “I mean, I feel like I did everything I could today. The fifth set, f***, there was some unlucky moments.
“I heard that at 2-1 the second serve was out. From the Hawk-Eye data, I saw that. I break back there, I have break chances, and then in the next service game, a fifth set can go the other way.
“But it is what it is. Look, he played fantastic. He played better than me the fourth and fifth set. It’s how it is. I felt like this Grand Slam final I did everything I could. At the US Open I kind of gave it away myself. It’s a bit different.”
Fans on social media also couldn’t believe the call.
One fan wrote on X: “Roland Garros needs to start using shot spot. That’s inexcusable.”
Another fan said: “Brutal. Changed the match. No better argument for shot spot than this. Gotta get the calls right if you can.”
A third said: “Hmm was this a fix?”

Zverev was asked about technology not being used at Roland Garros and said: “I mean, look, there’s a difference whether you’re down 3-1 in the fifth set or you’re back to two-all. That’s a deciding difference.
“Yeah, it’s frustrating in the end, but it is what it is. Umpires make mistakes. They’re also human, and that’s okay. But of course in a situation like that, you wish there wouldn’t be mistakes.”
The final took place two days after Zverev’s domestic abuse trial in Berlin was discontinued after a settlement was reached between him and his former partner following a lengthy legal battle.
