Fulham hope to wrap up a deal for Joachim Andersen in the next 48 hours after agreeing a £30million fee with Crystal Palace for the defender.

Marco Silva’s side failed with two bids for the Denmark international and had considered dropping their interest all together.

But the Cottagers reached an agreement with the Eagles late on Tuesday night, with the two clubs settling on a £30m fee.

Andersen, who joined Palace from Lyon in 2021, spent a season on loan at Craven Cottage in the 2020/21 season when Silva’s side were relegated to the Championship.

Silva has been desperate to add a defender to his squad following the departures of Tosin Adarabioyo to Chelsea and Tim Ream to FC Charlotte.

Andersen started all 38 of Palace’s matches last term as they recorded a joint-highest Premier League finish under Oliver Glasner.

Fulham started their Premier League campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United, while Palace were beaten 2-1 by Brentford.

The Cottagers hope to have Andersen and Burnley’s Sander Berge available for their next match at home to Leicester on Saturday.
