Germany striker Niclas Fullkrug takes dig at England superstar Jude Bellingham in live TV interview at Euro 2024

NICLAS FULLKRUG aimed a dig at Jude Bellingham after being asked about the England superstar.

The Borussia Dortmund striker, 31, signed for the Bundesliga side last summer in the wake of Bellingham’s exit for Real Madrid.

Following Germany‘s 2-0 win over Hungary, during which Fullkrug came off the bench, the burly forward was asked about Bellingham in the mixed zone.

Quizzed if the 20-year-old has “impressed” him, Fullkrug shrugged and shook his head.

He then responded “impressed me not” – before giving a cheeky grin.

Bellingham was the standout performer as England beat Serbia 1-0 in Gelsenkirchen last Sunday.

The midfielder headed home the Three Lions’ winner on 13 minutes, and had fans and pundits purring with his confident display.

Among those to gush over Bellingham’s display was SunSport columnist Jack Wilshere.

He wrote: “Why I love Bellingham, and why I think the whole country loves Bellingham, is the way he takes hold of games.

“He probably sensed that’s what was needed. If he comes low, that leaves space in the No 10 position for Foden.

“They didn’t combine against Serbia as much as you would like. But you could see that they were looking for each other.

“That’s what happens when two players with a really high understanding of the game play together.”

Following the narrow win over Serbia, Bellingham said of himself: “Jude Bellingham is made up of amazing people.

“It’s not just me. It’s because I have such a great support network – my family, my friends, my team-mates. Playing football is the easiest part.

“I have got used to getting into the box, getting wide and trying to do that. I got into that habit at Madrid and I wanted to carry my form into the Euros.

“It’s a great start for me personally to get my confidence up, and to help the lads get the win is the most important thing.”

Fullkrug, meanwhile, has been a substitute in both of Germany’s matches at Euro 2024 thus far.

He rose from the bench in their opener against Scotland, netting in the 5-1 win.

The forward then replaced Kai Havertz in the 58th minute of last night’s triumph over Hungary.
