The bye week is no time to rest for Jameis Winston.
The popular Giants quarterback will be returning to FOX Sports this weekend, appearing on both âFOX NFL Kickoffâ and âFOX NFL Sunday,â the network announced Thursday.
This, of course, wonât be Winstonâs first act in studio, as he worked as a correspondent for FOX during the week of Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.
Winston is No Stranger to TV Work
The 31-year-old Winston, known for his gregarious personality, was a hit during his last appearance with FOX Sports Digital. Returning to the city where he played from 2020-23, Winston became a social media-staple leading up to last February’s matchup between the Eagles and the Chiefs.
In one viral moment, Eagles running back Saquon Barkley was asked which team would sign Winston in free agency.
âI think New York needs a quarterback right now,â Barkley, an ex-Giant, playfully told Winston.
True to Barkleyâs prediction, Winston inked a two-year, $8 million contract with the Giants in March.
Winston Committed to Staying With Giants
The 2-11 Giants are on a bye this week, with Winston having started two games in his first season with Big Blue. The 11th-year veteran has thrown for 567 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions on 56.9% passing in addition to rushing for a score.
Despite being subjected to trade rumors last month, Winston has committed to staying with New York as the backup to rookie first-round pick Jaxson Dart.
âWhen a team gives me the opportunity and believes in me, they give me a job, I want to play for that team and do my best for that team,â Winston told ESPN. âI donât care what the circumstances, situation or facts is, I always say what I want for myself, I want for everyone.”
Wilson Set to Appear in Studio With CBS
Winston isnât the only Giants quarterback set to appear in studio. Russell Wilson, who signed a one-year, $10.5 million deal in March, will join CBS as an analyst on Sunday.
Wilson, 37, is scheduled to be a guest analyst on âThe NFL Today,â breaking down the dayâs most important matchups.
The 10-time Pro Bowler began the season as the starter but was benched in favor of Dart following an 0-3 start. In six games overall, Wilson has passed for 831 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions.
