Giants QB Jaxson Dart Sends 4-Word Message to New York

The New York Giants have a fascinating quarterback room heading into the 2025 season, and it’s a doozy. Of course, they have hometown boy Tommy DeVito, new draftee Jaxson Dart and veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. So, Brian Daboll and the Giants aren’t messing around when it comes to their quarterback position, and they certainly won’t let it be their demise.

While Wilson has already been tapped to start this season, he’s heading towards the end of his career, and many believe Dart will take over as the franchise quarterback at some point. Now, Dart is sending a strong message to New York about his performance.

Jaxson Dart Talks About His New York Giants Debut

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart had an impressive spring and showed his stuff during the team’s minicamp practices. After his performance at those minicamps, Dart opened up about his performance and talked about what he think he did well.

The four-word message that stands out is, “I’ve made tremendous strides.” So, he sees that he’s in the learning phase of his NFL career and is making improvements already.

Wilson has taken most of the snaps with the starters, but Dart has been able to participate in some plays with the starting offense, so he’s already getting a taste of that lead role. Mainly, though, he’s been working with the second and third teams.

“I feel like I’ve made tremendous strides, especially from my first day to now, just being able to understand the pictures of the offense and whatnot,” Dart said, according to Fox Sports. “Obviously, I have to dive into a lot more, but I’m definitely just trying to take it to the next level over the summer.”

Dart added, “Really just lock in, hone in on as much as I can throughout this time, so that way when I get back for training camp, I’m on an even better level than I’m now.”

Jaxson Dart is Learning from Veterans Such As Quarterback Russell Wilson

Dart also says that he’s soaking up all the information he can get in the locker room with the other players. He could learn a lot from veterans like Wilson.

“Any time that I see them after practices sitting in the meeting room, I try to just sit down and listen,” Dart said. “In the meeting rooms, trying to listen and then if I have questions on the field, I’ve got three great guys to talk to and ask for advice from.”

He added, “So, I’m constantly searching for that. I don’t have any pride about myself going over to ask questions and I know that I definitely don’t know everything. So, I definitely want to pick those guys’ brains because they’ve done it at the highest level and even won a Super Bowl.”

That last quotes was a reference to Wilson, who has gone to two Super Bowls and won one. It’s refreshing to see Dart have this humble approach and talk about learning from the guys around him.
