The New York Giants are trying to finish the 2025 NFL season on a high note, with the team heading into the final four games sporting a disappointing 2-11 record. Even though the 2025 campaign has become a lost cause in terms of competing for a spot in the NFL playoffs, the future is bright in New York, with some promising young players leading the way on the offensive side of the football.
Unfortunately for the Giants, the team has been without two of those promising young players, with star wide receiver Malik Nabers and rookie running back Cam Skattebo suffering season-ending injuries.
Although these two players won’t return this season, the attention has turned to the immediate future, as the Giants could be a high-powered offense with rising star Jaxson Dart under center for the foreseeable future.
Giants’ Skattebo Gives Promising Update

After exploding on the scene in the NFL during the eight games he played in the 2025 campaign, Skattebo, who quickly became a fan favorite and one of the better running backs in the game, went down with a gruesome leg injury.
Despite having a long rehab ahead of him, Skattebo appears to be making some significant progress, as he was able to walk into the Giants’ facility under his own power only two months after his devastating leg injury on Wednesday, via Giants Videos.
Obviously, this is excellent news for Skattebo and the Giants, as he may be able to return to the field sooner rather than later, which bodes well for a promising 2026 season.
As of right now, Skattebo is expected to be ready to get back on the gridiron for Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season. The same timetable is anticipated for Naber’s return, as he recovers from suffering a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee, an injury he sustained in Week 4.
Giants Favored Heading into Week 14 NFC East Showdown

The Giants may be having a forgettable season, marked by injuries, a mid-season coaching change and unmet expectations, but New York is in a good place in terms of the future of this storied franchise, with Dart leading the way.
In the final four games of the 2025 campaign, the Giants will try to end on a high note, as they are set to face the Washington Commanders at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, followed by matchups with the Minnesota Vikings (Week 16), Las Vegas Raiders (Week 17) and division rival Dallas Cowboys (Week 18).
Interestingly enough, Dart and company are currently favored (-2.5) to come out on top against the Commanders on Sunday. Washington, much like New York, is having a rough season, which was derailed by injuries to stars Jayden Daniels and Terry McLaurin. They have been trying to dig themselves out of a hole all season, but injury setbacks continue to haunt this once-promising team led by a star in the making at the quarterback position.
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out between these two teams heading into their final divisional matchup against one another.
