Giants Receiver Hits Career Milestone, Leaving Future in Question

Wan’Dale Robinson capped off a breakout season in the Giants’ Week 17 win over the Raiders, crossing the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the first time in his career.

His performance wasn’t just a personal milestone — it was a statement. Robinson hauled in 11 catches for 113 yards against the Las Vegas Raiders, displaying the quickness, toughness, and reliable hands that have turned him into the Giants’ most consistent weapon in the passing game.

For a team that struggled with consistency this season, Robinson’s emergence offered a glimpse of stability and a reason for optimism heading into the offseason. But New York now has a giant decision to make this offseason: will they re-sign him to a new deal or cut costs and let him go?

Milestone Season Highlights Robinson’s Value

Robinson’s 1,000-yard milestone cements him as one of the league’s most versatile and productive receivers. He proved he can line up inside and outside the slot, motion into the backfield, and make big plays after the catch, giving the Giants a dynamic offensive option.

“That’s my guy,” quarterback Jaxson Dart said after the game. “I have all the confidence in the world in him, and I know that he can beat any coverage. He’s just a guy that competes at such a high level. I’m just really happy for him, because he’s a hell of a player, and he definitely deserves it.”

His reliability over the past season elevated his status from complementary piece to central target, showing he can handle a full load in the passing attack. That kind of performance doesn’t just earn accolades — it sets the stage for serious consideration in the upcoming offseason.

And yet, Robinson remains humble and team-focused. Instead of focusing on his career milestone achievement, he was all about the Giants getting their third victory of 2025.

“These long flights home, they’re not good whenever you have losses,” he said. “They feel a whole lot better whenever you get a win and you feel like you made a difference and actually helped us get a win.”

Will The Giants Spend Big To Retain Him?

The breakout season also raises a key question: Will Robinson remain in New York? Entering unrestricted free agency, his production and versatility have dramatically increased his market value, and he is expected to command a significant contract.

Even when Robinson’s projected value was between $12 and $15 million per year, money was tight because of Darius Slayton’s deal with New York last offseason, which has turned out to be a pricey mistake.

With Wan’Dale crossing the 1,000-yard threshold, Spotrac now projects him at the upper end of that range with an average annual salary of $14.9 million. A popular comparison for elite slot receiver contracts is Khalil Shakir’s four-year, $53 million extension with the Bills, which averages out to $13.25 million per year.

But given that Shakir never had a 1,000-yard receiving season before his extension, Robinson’s market value could easily exceed that amount. Christian Kirk’s $18 million per year deal with the Jaguars set the standard for elite slot play, even though he also did not cross the 1,000-yard threshold before his extension.

The Giants are currently projected to have roughly $23M in 2026 cap space, so most of their funds would go towards re-signing Robinson if they chose to do that. They will have to weigh the costs and benefits, but Wan’Dale’s meteoric rise may make it worth it to re-sign him.

The Giants will need to balance the desire to retain one of their top receivers with the reality of salary-cap limitations and roster priorities. Robinson has indicated he wants to be part of a winning offense, but whether that means staying with the Giants or exploring the market remains the story heading into 2026.
