Giants Trade Idea Dumps Evan Neal for $33 Million Jaxson Dart Weapon

The New York Giants have had a bad case of the injury bug this season.

First, it was star wide receiver Malik Nabers going down with a torn ACL in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Most recently, rookie sensation Cam Skattebo suffered a fractured ankle in Big Blue’s most recent loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

That’s a combined 888 scrimmage yards and nine total touchdowns on season-ending injured reserve.

For a team trying to develop their rookie quarterback, Jaxson Dart, that’s something that just isn’t sustainable for the Giants going forward.

If they want to keep Dart moving in the right direction, Joe Schoen and New York’s front office have to be aggressive ahead of the looming trade deadline.

They need to supply their first-round quarterback with the tools to succeed.

Giants Trade Proposal Dumps Evan Neal, Lands Raiders’ Jakobi Meyers

In a trade idea first proposed by Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay, the New York Giants could acquire Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers.

New York Giants receive: WR Jakobi Meyers

Las Vegas Raiders receive: 2026 4th-Round Pick, OL Evan Neal

In what would be a home run trade for New York, they cut ties with a former first-round bust.

They also use a day three draft selection to provide a boost to their receiver room.

“While Meyers isn’t going to single-handedly salvage Big Blue’s year, he represents a massive upgrade over the current crop of receivers Dart has been working with following Malik Nabers’ season-ending knee injury,” wrote Kay.

“Getting an opportunity to build rapport with Meyers, who has potential to become a priority free-agent target for New York in a few months, while staying somewhat competitive is worth the cost of admission.”

There isn’t a bigger priority for the Giants right now than making sure Dart succeeds in the back half of his rookie season.

Landing Meyers is a great step in the right direction for an offense that is so dependent on the former Ole Miss star.

Would the Raiders Make the Deal?

Meyers has made it publicly known that he would much rather be playing for anyone else other than the Las Vegas Raiders.

He requested a trade in training camp that wasn’t granted.

Since then, he’s done his best to make the most of the situation like a true professional.

So far in 2025, the former New England Patriot has racked up 29 receptions for 329 receiving yards. He’s been a bright spot in an otherwise lackluster offense.

Las Vegas seemingly has no intention of extending the impending free agent, so it makes sense that his name has been circulating in trade discussions.

“The Raiders aren’t going to get a massive haul from a rebuilding franchise like the Giants, but they could still benefit from kicking the tires on a reclamation project in Evan Neal while also adding an early-Day 3 pick to their arsenal,” continued Kay.

“The Giants’ pick is likely to land near the top of the fourth round. The team is currently 2-6 and would select No. 6 overall if the draft were held today.”

Evan Neal isn’t a bad reclamation product either.

The Raiders’ offensive line has been a massive issue in their run and pass game, and while Neal hasn’t played a single snap for the New York Giants this season, there may be something Pete Carroll’s coaching staff can pull from the former No. 7 pick.
