Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is now Barcelona’s first choice summer transfer target.

Rashford was frozen out of the first-team at Old Trafford by Ruben Amorim at the end of 2024, joining Aston Villa on loan for the second-half of the 2024-25 season.

The England international showed glimpses of his old form at Villa Park but rejected the possibility of joining Unai Emery’s side in a permanent deal.

Rashford has eyes for just one club with reports suggesting the 27-year-old is willing to take a pay cut in order to seal a dream move to Barcelona.

The La Liga champions have been keen to strengthen the left side of their attack. Whle talks were held with Rashford’s representatives, Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams emerged as their top target.

Luis Diaz has been Barcelona’s second choice but Liverpool are adamant the Colombia international will not be sold this summer, despite his interest in joining the club he supported as a boy.

Rashford has was this month stripped of his no10 shirt which has been handed to new signing Matheus Cunha.

Rashford is not part of Amorim’s pre-season plans with the club set to fly out to the United States to continue their preparations for the new season later this month.

The player was told he has the option of staying away from Carrington while he attempts to find a new club but surprised many by showing up for training this week.
