Harrison Butker Sends Strong Message After Charlie Kirk’s Death

While the Kansas City Chiefs are focused on their Super Bowl LIX rematch against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2, kicker Harrison Butker reacted to the death of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk.

Kirk was shot and killed during a speaking event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, September 10. Video of the horrific attack circulated on social media before President Trump confirmed he died from the gunshot wound on Truth Social. He was 31 years old.

Kirk’s death comes after a series of political violence in America, including the assassination of Democratic Minnesota lawmaker Melissa Hortman and her husband in June.

Butker formed a relationship with Kirk through their support for Trump and the MAGA movement. Butker joined Trump at the White House in July while he signed an executive order to bring back the Presidential Fitness Test.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.”

Kirk also showed Butker support following his viral commencement speech at St. Benedictine College last year.

The seventh-round pick from the 2017 NFL draft told the women at the small Catholic school on May 11, 2024, “Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.

“I’m beyond blessed with the many talents God has given me, but it cannot be overstated that all my success is made possible because a girl I met in band class back in middle school would convert to the faith, become my wife and embrace one of the most important titles of all: homemaker.”

Kirk defended Butker against criticism and posted on X, “I stand with Harrison Butker.”
