Martin Brundle accidentally mistook Lewis Capaldi’s brother for the superstar singer during an hilarious exchange at the F1 Singapore Grand Prix.
The Sky Sports pundit then accidentally missed Lewis’ offer of a handshake but the ‘Someone You Loved’ singer took it with good grace.
Brundle has become very well-known for his pre-race grid walk, interviewing drivers and celebrities in the minutes before lights out, with many of them descending into chaos.
Sunday’s race at Marina Bay was no exception with the former F1 star chatting to the likes of comedian Jack Whitehall and Superman actor David Corenswet.
With just a few seconds remaining, Brundle spotted who he thought was Capaldi and walked over to him, saying: ‘Lewis, lovely to see you,’ only for the man to inform him that he was actually Capaldi’s brother.
Lewis himself promptly emerged behind him, with Brundle apologising as the trio laughed off the moment before engaging in a brief and pleasant chat.
With the grid walk needing to come to a swift end, Brundle said his goodbyes before quickly turning away from the brothers, but missed Lewis holding his hand out for the pundit.

The singer wasn’t annoyed though, jokingly shaking his own hand and laughingly saying to the camera: ‘I’ll hold that!’
Brundle’s grid walks have become iconic part of the F1 weekend but not all of them have been so humorous.
