The Wimbledon Championships have returned for 2024 and tennis fans are keen to know just how much prize money the top players can earn this year.

The All England Club excitingly confirmed in June that there will be a record total prize money fund of £50,000,000 at this year’s Grand Slam tournament in SW19.

But how much will the men’s singles champion get? What about the women’s singles winner? What is the prize fund for doubles tennis and wheelchair tennis?

Here’s everything you need to know as the Wimbledon Championships – one of the most iconic and biggest tournaments in the sport – get started on July 1.

What is the the total prize money fund for Wimbledon 2024?

The entire prize money fund for Wimbledon 2024 is £50 million – which is an 11.9 per cent increase on last year’s total of £44.7 million.

What is the prize money for the Wimbledon 2024 men’s singles champion?

Carlos Alcaraz is the defending champion in the Wimbledon men’s singles after he heroically defeated Novak Djokovic in last year’s epic final.

This year’s winner will pocket £2.7m and the runner-up will walk away with £1.4m.

What is the prize money for the Wimbledon 2024 women’s singles champion?

Marketa Vondrousova is the current champion in the women’s singles after she emerged victorious against Ons Jabeur in the 2023 final.

The prize money for the women’s singles winner and runner-up in 2024 is exactly the same as the men’s – £2.7m and £1.4m respectively.

How much do the singles players earn round-by-round?

First round prize money for the singles competition is set at £60,000 – which then increases to £93,000 for the second round.

The third-round prize money is £143,000 and the fourth-round prize money stands at £226,000 for 2024.

The quarter-finalists and semi-finalists will earn £375,000 and £715,000 respectively.

What is the prize money in wheelchair tennis at Wimbledon 2024?

The total prize money for the four wheelchair tennis events – gentlemen’s and ladies’ wheelchair singles, quad wheelchair singles, gentlemen’s and ladies’ wheelchair doubles and quad wheelchair doubles -has been set at £1 million.

‘I am particularly pleased that we have been able to increase prize money for the wheelchair and quad wheelchair competitions to £1 million for the first time,’ All England Club Chair Jevans added.

What is the prize money in doubles tennis at Wimbledon 2024?

The total doubles prize money fund has increased to £5,780,000 for the men’s and women’s events.

The winners in the men’s doubles and women’s doubles will earn £650,000 per pair.

The mixed doubles champions, meanwhile, will pocket £130,000.
