Chelsea are through to Sunday’s Club World Cup final – but there is more than just a trophy on the line for Enzo Maresca’s side.
The Blues coasted past Fluminense with a 2-0 win in Tuesday’s semi-final courtesy of a brace from new summer signing Joao Pedro.
But they will face a tough ask in the final, with a match-up against either Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain in the offing.
Chelsea have already spent lavishly to the tune of more than £200million this summer, but the Blues will be glad to recoup some of that money through FIFA’s lucrative Club World Cup prize purse.
How much exactly will they take home by the tournament’s end? Let’s find out.

How much prize money will Chelsea get?

A total of £774m ($1b) in prize money has been split across the 32 participating teams, and Chelsea will earn a large amount of that after their run to the final.
Prior to the tournament, clubs were handed out as a participation fee, the amount of which depends on what confederation they come from.
The maximum fee for a European club was £27.8m, with reports suggesting that the Blues were on the upper end but did not receive the full amount.
Club World Cup prize money per round
Group stage win: £1.4million
Group stage draw: £739,000
Round of 16: £5.5million
Quarter-final: £9.6million
Semi-final: £15.5million
Final: £22.1million
Winners: £29.5million
But by coming through the group stages and reaching the final, Chelsea have landed themselves an estimated $105million (£80m).
And should they win in Sunday’s final, the Blues will get an additional $10m in prize money.
What else do Chelsea get if they win the Club World Cup?

If Chelsea land the Club World Cup trophy in the United States, the club will get to wear a special gold badge on their shirts for the next four years.
The badge is there to recognise the achievement of the winning team until the next edition of the Club World Cup takes place in 2029.
The winner also receives the FIFA Club World Cup trophy, of course, as well as a FIFA World Champions certificate.
