Inside Tottenham’s hunt for mole leaking Ange Postecoglou’s secrets with boss ready to ‘get a big bat and pummel people’

TOTTENHAM’S traitor has sabotaged manager Ange Postecoglou by leaking at least TEN separate dressing-room secrets.

The club have compiled a dossier of evidence over the past two seasons to root out the rat, who could face the sack.

Postecoglou revealed on Friday that sensitive team information — including tactics and injury news — was still being revealed, despite warnings to staff.

And the angry Aussie has vowed to unmask and “deal with” the mole, who he claims has been betraying the club since last year.

The latest incident occurred before Thursday’s 1-1 Europa League draw with Eintracht Frankfurt, when it emerged online that winger Wilson Odobert would miss the match with a hamstring issue.

Frenchman Odobert was named on the bench but remained unused in the quarter-final first leg.

Postecoglou insisted: “We’ve got a leak inside the club. We’ve got an idea where it’s coming from and we will deal with it.

“You’d like to think that everyone within our camp is working with us rather than against us.”

SunSport can reveal that since the first spilling of details, Spurs have kept a careful record of when sensitive information about player injuries, fitness, line-ups and tactics has been made public.

The number of leaks is now into double figures. And Postecoglou joked that if he was Hollywood fictional investigator Jack Reacher, he would adopt the American’s “big bat and pummel people” approach to the traitor.

It is the last thing under-fire Postecoglou needed ahead of today’s Premier League clash at Wolves.

Tottenham lie a lowly 15th in the table after losing 16 league games this season.

And the former Celtic manager admits the “general sentiment” is that he will be sacked at the end of the season — even if he guides Spurs to Euro glory.

He has been booed by his own fans and suffered chants of “You don’t know what you’re doing”.

Other bosses have already been linked with succeeding him in the summer.

However, Wolves manager Vitor Pereira defended him, insisting the Londoners have a “fantastic” chief.

The Portuguese is convinced Postecoglou is the real deal, having previously locked horns with him in Asia.

Both bosses were handed posts in the Far East in December 2019 — Postecoglou at Yokohama F Marinos in Japan and Pereira at Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai SIPG. Both led their clubs to title glory and then went head to head in the 2020 AFC Champions League.

Postecoglou won the first clash 1-0 but Pereira gained revenge with a 2-1 success.

Pereira said: “I’ve known the coach for a long time. He’s under pressure and sometimes it’s difficult to keep the balance — but I like him.

“He doesn’t need my support but in my opinion, he is a fantastic coach.

“Ange is also a leader with good ideas, but he’s having a very difficult season.

“He’s having a tough time but I like him as a person as well. He’s very impressive in a lot of things.

“Spurs still have hunger and that’s what I saw of the team when I watched their game this week.”

Wolves are chasing a fourth straight top-flight win for the first time since 1972.

But Pereira is also concerned about keeping captain Nelson Semedo.

The wing-back, 31, has been a rock but is out of contract this summer.

Pereira said: “Nelson is fantastic — that’s why we need to keep him. I’ve spoken to him and the club, now they need to try to find the middle of the bridge.”

On their chances against Tottenham today, he added: “This team have shown that technically, tactically and with passion and intensity, they can win games.”
