Insider Drops Massive Update on Job Security of Jets HC Aaron Glenn: EXCLUSIVE

The New York Jets aren’t going to fire head coach Aaron Glenn on Black Monday.

I spoke with ESPN’s Rich Cimini on “Boy Green Daily” and asked on a scale of 1 to 10 how surprised he would be if Coach Glenn were fired after one season with the Jets.

“I’d be in the 10 mode. To me, the most surprising thing, maybe in the last 10 or 20 years, was the Sauce Gardner trade—that one we did not see coming. I mean, you’re talking about Jet alumni. I was standing five feet away from Darrelle Revis when that trade came out. I said, ‘Darrelle, they just traded Sauce.’ This was outside the Nick Mangold funeral, outside the church. He is like, ‘No, they didn’t.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, they did,’ and I showed him my phone with the text, and he was stunned like everyone else. If Glenn got fired, I would be even more stunned,” Cimini told me on my podcast.

Insider Goes into Detail on Why a Firing Isn’t Going to Happen

“First of all, it would be wrong. I don’t think that is in Woody Johnson’s thoughts. You can’t give a guy one year under these conditions — this was not a one-year, hey, let’s make a playoff run. This is a year where, on November 4th, they basically tore it down and pointed to 2026. When they made the two trades for [Quinnen] Williams and Gardner and sent those guys out, they basically shifted their entire set of priorities. It became about 2026 and the future,” Cimini explained to me.

“The last three weeks, we have been subjected to Brady Cook at quarterback. Nothing against Brady Cook; he is a fine young man. He is very polite, he is very classy, but he is just not an NFL quarterback. So they have been… I hate to use the word, I’m not a big believer in this, but they have been in tank mode. Let’s call it for what it is,” Cimini bluntly said.

“So I find it laughable that the same fans who were demanding Brady Cook play the last few weeks and were demanding the tank are now upset with the coach for doing exactly what they wanted to do a few weeks ago. Look, he is not getting fired. He is not getting fired. I don’t think he deserves to be fired. Now, has he done a good job this year? He has not. He has not. There has been very little evidence that he can get this fixed, but I think you’ve got to give the guy a chance to execute his plan. These have been horrific conditions this year, and I think he deserves a chance to get another chance,” Cimini said.

Let’s Hope He Gets It Right

Okay, Jets fans, Coach Glenn isn’t getting fired. You can continue to yell about it on social media like the fans screaming “sell the team” at Woody Johnson. That isn’t happening either. But if doing either of those things is therapeutic in some way, then keep doing you.

With him not going anywhere, a constructive thing to do would be to try to figure out how to fix this.

Coach Glenn is going to make a ton of changes this offseason. Cimini strongly hinted that some coaches are already in danger of losing their jobs on the Jets staff.

One other item that we discussed during our full-length interview is whether Coach Glenn can add a proven offensive voice who has a history of working with quarterbacks and has had success. Cimini told me that it could definitely take place this offseason. So Jets fans, I’m saying there is a chance.
