Insider Expecting ‘Heavy’ Suspension for Browns’ Quinshon Judkins

Cleveland Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins met with the NFL on September 10, as a suspension could be looming.

Judkins was arrested in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in July on charges of domestic assault and battery. However, a month later, all the charges were dropped, but the NFL is still investigating the matter.

As Judkins met with the NFL, Browns insider Ken Carman expects the NFL to come down heavy on the rookie running back in a potential suspension.

“This all stems to (Roger Goodell’s) situation with Ray Rice stuff years ago. He took a lot of heat with what TMZ found that they said they couldn’t find,” Carman said on 92.3 The Fan. “When that came out, it was everyone going after Roger Goodell. There is no way he doesn’t remember that. Now, it’s nobody is above the shield.

“Everything is about protecting the shield, and so they’re gonna come down very heavy on anybody when it comes to this thing. I don’t know what they see or what they have, it’s kind of figuring out if he’s going to be available to us,” Carman added.

As Carman notes, he expects Goodell to do everything he can to protect the shield, so he expects Judkins to be suspended.

Currently, Judkins isn’t suspended, but that could soon come after he met with the NFL on Sept. 10.

Insider Expecting Multiple Games for Judkins

Carman isn’t the only person who’s expecting a suspension for Judkins.

Browns insider Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland says he expects Judkins to be suspended for 2-4 games, despite the charges being dropped.

“I do think he’s going to be suspended otherwise this case would have been done by now,” Grossi said on ESPN Cleveland. “But, the NFLPA is trying to negotiate a reduced suspension. I think the contract will fall in line once they now how many games he’s out.”

Grossi believes the NFL’s investigation of the matter isn’t good news for the running back and a potential suspension.

Judkins was selected 36th overall by the Browns in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Browns Uncertain Judkins Will Play in Week 2

Cleveland finally signed Judkins ahead of Week 1, but his status for Week 2 is up in the air.

Judkins didn’t practice on Wednesday due to his meeting with the NFL. When asked about his status for Sunday, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski says they are taking it day by day.

“Yeah, I’m going to take it day-by-day,” Stefanski said. “He’s not here today, not practicing today. So, I’ll really take that day by day… Need to see him tomorrow and the next day, and see where it is. So, as coaches, we are just going to take it day-by-day.”

Stefanski says the Browns need to see how Judkins looks in practice on Thursday and Friday before they make a decision.

“Well, I think with any player, you want to be very smart about where they are, because it’s all different. It could be guys coming off an injury, a guy that you sign late during the year. You just have to be smart about where they are, and that’s where this week we’ll take it day-by-day and see where he is before we make that determination,” Stefanski added.

Judkins helped lead the Ohio State Buckeyes to the national championship last season.
