Denver Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins has a message for his detractors, and he shared it after helping defeat the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.
The Broncos are now 4-2 after handing the Eagles their first loss of the season.
However, Dobbins, who posted, “Yeahhhh!!!! #BroncosCountry!!!!” on X after the game, knows there is still a lot of season left. He also remembers how many times the Broncos let games get away from them with self-inflicted errors. He put his team on notice about that, too.

Dobbins had a workman-like effort, tallying 79 yards and 1 touchdown on 20 carries during the game. After the game, Dobbins made it clear that the Broncos are a team that others must take seriously.
“It was not a surprise to us. I’ve been mentioning that we’re a tough team, right? We were showing that we’re physically tough, but we weren’t at a championship-level of mentally tough, right? Well, we showed the mental tough game today. We showed that we are mentally tough as well, and we showed that we’re a dangerous team. It’s just one step in the process, though. We got a win against the defending Super Bowl champs,” Dobbins told reporters postgame.
“But I’m the type of guy, I could have did better today. Could have broken more tackles. And we’re going to move on to the next week, and try to win the game in London as well.”
“Hey, go Broncos. That’s all I gotta say,” Dobbins said into a camera as he left the field following the win over the Eagles. “I wouldn’t say we shocked the world. Because we knew. We gonna keep going.”
Dobbins is quickly becoming a fan favorite and has even drawn the “underrate” label on several occasions, including from the national media like ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
He has not forgotten about all of the naysayers, either.
J.K. Dobbins Claps Back at Doubters

Four of his final five fourth-quarter totes went for 1 yard or no gain. However, Dobbins capped a 10-play 64-yard drive for the Broncos with a touchdown plunge.
Dobbins had four carries for 20 yards on that series.
“That’s what I was brought here for,” Dobbins said, per The Denver Post’s Parker Gabriel on October 5. “I know a lot of people doubted me. A lot of people didn’t think I was that good. A lot of people think a lot of things about me. ‘Oh, he’s been hurt.’ Go look at the numbers.”
The Denver Post’s Luca Evans shared the Gunna Writing Fire GIF in reaction to the remarks. Dobbins certainly raised eyebrows for the NFL’s social media team for his performance.
Dobbins was drafted in the second round of the 2020 draft by the Baltimore Ravens. He spent the 2024 season with the Los Angeles Chargers.
He set career highs with 195 receptions for 905 yards and tied his best mark with 9 TD grabs. Durability remains a concern. He has never played in more than 13 games in a single season during his five-plus-year career.
J.K. Dobbins Tracking for 1,000-Yard Season

GettyJ.K. Dobbins #27 of the Denver Broncos celebrates a touchdown against the Tennessee Titans.
Dobbins is up to 402 rushing yards and 4 TDs on 77 attempts. He has added another 23 yards on six receptions, but has proven throughout his career that he is capable of handling a larger workload in that capacity.
He is on pace for 243 carries, 1,373 yards, and 12 touchdowns on the ground. It would be the Broncos’ first 1,000-yard rushing campaign since Phillip Lindsay’s in 2019, per Stathead.
Dobbins is enjoying the ride.
All of those numbers would be career-bests, and another indication that the Broncos have solved their ground game woes of last season. However, the Broncos have rookie second-round draft pick RJ Harvey (4-12-0 rushing, 3-18 receiving) to keep him fresh.
Up next, Dobbins and the Broncos will travel to London to take on the New York Jets, who lost 37-22 to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5, in Week 6.
