Jadon Sancho could end his Chelsea and Manchester United nightmare this summer… only to reunite with former manager Erik ten Hag.
It has long been known that Sancho will leave Old Trafford, with his £73million transfer to United proving to be a disaster for all involved.
The England international has spent this season on loan at Chelsea who are now obligated to buy the winger permanently for £25m.
But having underwhelmed at Stamford Bridge, recording just three goals and five assists in the Premier League, the Blues are prepared to instead pay a £5m penalty to United in order to not sign him.
With the Red Devils desperate to cash-in on Sancho, who has just one year left on his contract, they have further lowered their asking price to less than £20m.

And, according to The Mirror, that has reawakened Borussia Dortmund’s interest in the 25-year-old and Bayer Leverkusen are also keen.
Sancho made his name at Dortmund and returned to the Bundesliga club last season on loan, helping them reach the Champions League final.
Leverkusen meanwhile need to add some creativity and firepower to their squad with talisman Florian Wirtz expected to join German champions Bayern Munich in the summer after snubbing interest from Arsenal and Manchester City.
Sancho and Leverkusen would appear a good match and they wouldn’t be short of cash if Wirtz leaves – but there might be one major problem.
Die Werkself are also on the hunt for a new manager after Xabi Alonso announced he would leave the club at the end of the season, with the Spaniard expected to replace Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid.
Arsenal and Chelsea hero Cesc Fabregas appears to be the frontrunner to take over following his great work at Italian club Como.
But it is also reported by German outlet Kicker that Ten Hag, who has been out of work since getting sacked by United last October, is also a leading contender for the Leverkusen job.
The Dutchman had a massive and very public falling out with Sancho at the start of the 2023/24 season after the manager claimed the player had been slacking in training.
Sancho accused Ten Hag of lying in a now deleted social media post and was subsequently exiled from the first-team, effectively ending his United career.
Last summer Ten Hag claimed their feud was over but it is impossible to imagine the pair ever working together again.
The 55-year-old has also been linked with another Bundesliga job at RB Leipzig though the Red Bull side seem more keen on Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner.
