New York Jets running back Breece Hall carried the ball 14 times for 81 yards while bringing in five of six targets for 30 yards in Monday’s 27-21 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Hall bounced back from a pair of ugly outings by cracking the century mark in total yards for the second time this season. Braelon Allen (4-26-0) was nearly splitting work with the starter before exiting the game in the first half after taking a shot to his knee.
The injury forced offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand to give Hall — the Jets’ obvious top rushing option — enough touches to actually generate positive fantasy results. The 24-year-old has yet to hit pay dirt through four starts, a trend Hall is hoping to buck in a tasty matchup on paper against the Dallas Cowboys (1-1-2) on Sunday.
The Jets fell to 0-4 in the loss to the Dolphins.

RB Braelon Allen: Quickly Ruled Out
Running back Braelon Allen (knee) did not return to Monday’s game against the Dolphins, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported. Allen was injured on a kickoff return late in the second quarter when a defender was pushed down in front of him and fell into his knee. He was able to walk off the field and to the locker room under his own power, but Allen was quickly ruled out.
CB Michael Carter:Being Evaluated for Concussion
Cornerback Michael Carter (head) is being evaluated for a concussion. Carter went to the locker room in the second quarter after taking a hit to the head, and he’ll be evaluated by medical staff. With Jarvis Brownlee (ankle) inactive, Tony Adams and Qwan’tez Stiggers are in line to see more work in the secondary for as long as Carter is out.
Nick Folk: Converts Career-Long 58-Yard FG
Kicker Nick Folk made both of his field-goal tries and his lone extra-point attempt Monday in a loss to Miami. Folk ended the first half in impressive fashion, making a 58-yard field goal as time expired for the longest successful attempt of his career.
The grizzled veteran added a mere 50-yard make early in the fourth quarter and also made his only extra-point try. Folk has gone a perfect 7-for-7 on field-goal attempts (including 4-for-4 from 50-plus yards) and has made all seven of his extra-point tries through four weeks.
WR Garrett Wilson: Makes Spectacular TD Grab in Loss
Wide receiver Garrett Wilson hauled in six of eight targets for 82 yards and a touchdown in Monday’s 27-21 loss to Miami. Wilson welcomed back QB Justin Fields (concussion) with open arms after the duo connected in the end zone for the second time this season (third overall for Wilson). The star wideout scored in spectacular fashion when he caught a high-point pass through a defender’s arm while barely dragging both of his feet in bounds.
He did have a second potential score erased by an offensive pass interference penalty. Wilson is now up to 311 yards and three touchdowns through four starts as the Jets continue to force feed him the ball in failed comeback attempts. Fantasy managers should continue treating the Ohio State product as a WR1 in another soft matchup versus the Cowboys on Sunday.
