Jets Reject Chiefs Trade Offer for Breece Hall: Report

The Kansas City Chiefs sent a trade offer to the New York Jets.

However, according to NFL Insider Connor Hughes of SNY, the green and white rejected it.

“For Breece Hall, there was an offer on the table for a fourth-round pick. I was told it was from the Kansas City Chiefs that were willing to trade for Breece Hall. The Jets were steadfast in wanting a three. So they wanted a third-round pick for Breece Hall. They were not able to get one, only had a fourth-round offer,” Hughes revealed on “Jets Final Drive.”

GM Breaks Silence on Not Trading Hall Ahead of NFL Deadline

Shortly after the 2025 NFL trade deadline, general manager Darren Mougey spoke to the media.

A media member asked Mougey why he didn’t trade Hall, who will be a free agent in 2026. Especially considering they had already shipped off two-time first-team All-Pro Sauce Gardner and star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams.

Mougey took umbrage with the media member’s use of the word “teardown” in his question.

“I wouldn’t call it a teardown. I understand the question, but like I said, through these processes we talk about a lot of things and we fielded a lot of calls. Breece is a talented player. He is going to help us compete and win games the rest of the season,” Mougey responded.

The same media member followed up by asking if it was fair to assume that the team has plans for Hall beyond this season.

“I’m excited to see Breece play against the Cleveland Browns [on] Sunday. I’m excited that he is on our team,” Mougey said, dodging the question.

The Reason Mougey Had to Play Coy

If the Jets were unwilling to trade Hall, then they better re-sign him this offseason. You can’t hope for a compensatory pick in 2027. Those are never guaranteed.

The question is, does Hall even want to stay here?

If you base it on some of the activity around the 2025 NFL trade deadline, the answer to that question would be a resounding no.

NFL Insider Jordan Schultz revealed that he was told, “Breece Hall wants to be traded.”

He reiterated that the message on social media saying, “Breece Hall wants to be out.”

Kurt Benkert – Breece Hall Trade Drama at Deadline

Former backup NFL quarterback Kurt Benkert attempted to fill the role of NFL Insider ahead of the Tuesday, November 4, trade deadline.

At 1:55 pm, he posts on Twitter, “Jets RB Breece Hall is not expected to be traded today, per source.”

43 minutes later, Benkert goes back to social media and posts an update saying, “Jets RB Breece Hall would like a fresh start. As of last night, they weren’t expecting to move him, but right now the Jets have MULTIPLE offers on the table. We will find out soon, they have until 4 est, per source.”

“People called him out like you don’t have any sources, what are you talking about? Then he tweets out a picture of him DMing with Breece Hall and then deletes that tweet. So it really appears that Breece Hall DM’d Kurt Benkert and was like, ‘Hey, I do want to get traded.’ Then, like leveraged [Benkert] to put that in the Twittersphere. Like what the [expletive] are we doing, man? Like that can’t happen,” social media user NYJ Matt explained on the “Broadway Jets” podcast.
