The New York Jets are kicking the tires on a proven veteran.
Brian Costello of the New York Post shared on social media that the Jets “had an old friend in for a tryout today – kicker Nick Folk, per sources. Folk kicked for the Jets from 2010-16.”

Folk, 40, spent the last two seasons with the Tennessee Titans. Like a fine wine, Folk has gotten better with age.
In 2023, Folk finished 29-of-30 on his field goal attempts, a 96.7% conversion rate, a career high. In 2024, Folk finished 21-of-22 on his field goal attempts, a 95.5% conversion rate, the second highest mark of his career.
A Potential Family Reunion on 1 Jets Drive
Folk is a former Pro Bowler who first entered the NFL back in 2007 as the No. 178 overall pick in the sixth round.
He has played for five NFL teams and had a brief stint in the AAF (Alliance of American Football) with the Arizona Hotshots in 2019.
Folk was with the Jets from 2010 through 2016. During that stretch, Folk earned the nickname “Folk Hero” for his ability to deliver in the clutch.
When the Jets cut ties with Folk in February of 2017, he ranked “No. 2 on the franchise’s all-time points list with 729.”
“Over the course of the next seven seasons, Folk connected on 175 field goals and his field goal percentage of (81.3) ranks highest of any Jets kicker with a minimum of 100 attempts. Only Pat Leahy (304) hit more three-pointers for the Jets, but Folk was more than a volume kicker. He connected on seven game-winning field goals for the Green & White including three in 2013. He tied Leahy for the most game-winning/tying field goals in the last minute of the fourth quarter or overtime with eight,” Jets senior reporter Eric Allen wrote in 2017.
The former Arizona product has a career field goal conversion rate of 84.3%. On extra points, Folk has converted 96.8%.
Social Media Reacts to Folk-Jets Workout News
“Led the league the last 2 years in FG% made. Had a long of 56 (longest since 2010 with the Jets) in 2024 and 53 in 2023. Was 100% (25/25) on extra points last year. Would be a easy no brainer add for the Jets at kicker,” NFL analyst Will Parkinson posted on X previously Twitter.

Last week, ESPN NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler shared a 30-second video clip of Folk going through a recent kicker workout.
Fowler said Folk “is looking to play an 18th NFL season.”
His agents proactively sent this video of Folk to all the NFL general managers in the league, including GM Darren Mougey.
“Folk injured his groin late last year but has recovered,” Fowler added.
