While Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and his wife, Hailee Steinfeld bask in their newlywed glow, they’re making the most of their summer.
After tying the knot in Santa Barbara at the end of May, Allen and Steinfeld jetted off on their honeymoon. Before the league’s Most Valuable Player reports to training camp at St. John Fisher University later this month, the couple is spending time in Southern California, where they each own homes.
Steinfeld revealed in her newsletter that they were traveling this past week, but didn’t specify where. She wrote in the most recent issue of Beau Society, “I’ve skipped town on a little road trip (it wasn’t super spontaneous, so I won’t be checking it off the summer bucket list). After I hit send, I’ll be jumping offline and into the ocean.”
However, photos shared on social media on Sunday, July 6, revealed that they made a special trip to San Diego to attend the surprise retirement party for former Bills safety Micah Hyde thrown by his wife, Amanda Hyde.

Hyde shared numerous photos from the epic party in Harbor Island and wrote, “I am STILL in disbelief! Last week, @amandahyde_ & @caryndujanovich threw me a surprise retirement party. My beautiful wife started planning this surprise last year. Only one person slipped but Amanda played it off too smooth. 👀
“I had no idea my friends and family from all over were coming into town to celebrate. To see so many teammates from the very first day I strapped up the pads, to the last, and to feel so much love and support, blew me away. I was and still am overwhelmed with gratitude. I’m forever honored for the people in my life. I truly wouldn’t be in this position without them. Thank you to my wife for making life special and thank you again to all that attended. Love you guys!”

Micah Hyde Briefly Returned to Play for the Bills Last Season Before Officially Retiring
Hyde played for the Bills between 2017 and 2024. He’ll forever be remembered as a leader who played a crucial role in helping Buffalo end their 17-year playoff drought under head coach Sean McDermott. After signing a two-year $19.25 million contract extension with Buffalo in 2021, the Bills let his contract expire ahead of the 2024 NFL season.
At the time, the Bills made several difficult cuts and roster changes to get more cap-compliant and move toward a younger team. For Hyde, after missing almost the entirety of the 2022 NFL season with a neck injury and then suffering two stingers in 2023, he was already mulling over retirement
However, the Bills never fully shut the door on the two-time Second Team All-Pro’s possible return, and Hyde re-signed with the team ahead of Week 14 last tear. Hyde joined a team that already clinched the AFC East title and a spot in the playoffs. Unfortunately, the Bills once again missed their ticket to the Super Bowl after losing to the Kansas City Chiefs.
In 95 career starts in Buffalo, Hyde recorded 417 total tackles, 16 interceptions for 196 yards, 42 passes defensed, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
