Jude Bellingham has already earmarked Real Madrid’s next superstar who the England midfielder has claimed could be even better than him.

Bellingham, still only 20 years old himself, continued his remarkable rise last season with a superb maiden campaign for Real in La Liga.

The Englishman registered 19 goals and six assists, helping Carlo Ancelotti’s side win the league and Champions League whilst also being voted La Liga’s Player of the Season.

Bellingham has carried his superb form into this summer’s Euro 2024, scoring England’s tournament opener against Serbia en route to a 1-0 win on Sunday.

But while his own rise shows no signs of slowing down just yet, Bellingham already believes that one of Real’s new up-and-coming stars has the talent to surpass even his own lofty achievements.

That’s according to Massimo Franchi, founder of the Golden Boy award – which Bellingham won in 2023 – who revealed a conversation he had with the Englishman late last year.

‘At the time, he told me that his brother Jobe, who plays for Sunderland, could be one of the favourites for the 2024 award,’ he told German outlet Frankfurter Rundschau.

‘He is a great talent, but of course that was just a joke, because Jobe does not yet play for a Premier League club and is therefore excluded from the current rankings according to Golden Boy rules.

‘Jude also told me in December last year that Real Madrid have a fantastic young player who is perhaps even a little better than him: Turkey’s Arda Güler, who scored an outstanding goal against Albania.

‘According to Bellingham, he would show incredible things in training. Güler is only 19 years old.’

Guler joined Real last summer from Turkish side Fenerbahçe and enjoyed an impressive first season, with six goals in ten league campaigns.

And the 19-year-old announced himself on the world stage in Turkey’s opening game of Euro 2024 as he scored a superb goal-of-the-tournament contender to help his nation win 3-1 against Georgia.

The goal, only Guler’s second goal for his country, also saw him become the youngest player to score on his European Championship debut, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo’s record from 2004.
