Justin Rose FaceTimes Fleetwood’s Wife to Celebrate Tour Championship Win

Fans, friends, and family of Fleetwood alike celebrated this Sunday afternoon as Tommy Fleetwood took home his maiden PGA Tour victory. Despite Fleetwood’s wife, Clare’s physical absence at the Tour Championship, his close friend Justin Rose made sure she was included in the celebration.

The PGA Tour released a heartwarming video of Justin Rose and his wife Kate Phillips face-timing Clare. The duo are seen offering words of congratulations to the wife and manager of the English professional. As they turn the phone for Clare, the crowd erupts into cheers at the sight of her on the screen. Together, they erupt in laughter.

Fleetwood and Rose Friendship

The two English golfers have maintained a close friendship throughout their careers. Despite Fleetwood’s recent loss to Rose at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, he still congratulated him on the win.

This past weekend Fleetwood took home his maiden PGA Tour win at the 2025 Tour Championship. Justin Rose made sure to return the favor. The 12-time PGA Tour winner filmed his Ryder Cup teammate as he made his final putt to secure the top spot.

As Rose holds his phone up, the professional golfer’s huge smile says it all, he is proud of his friend. He later celebrated the win on X, writing “This felt as good as winning myself! So happy for my man @TommyFleetwood1 for enduring the relentless pressure cooker his quality golf has put him in during these playoffs and there is no more deserving champ.”

Fans went crazy for the duo, calling Justin Rose a ‘proud dad,‘ while reflecting on how both golfers are men of great character.

Family Celebrations

As Fleetwood finished off his round, his stepson Oscar Craig emerged from the crowd to hug Fleetwood. The 17-year-old wore a matching shirt, and cried on his step-father’s shoulder as the duo embraced.

The pair seem pretty close, with Fleetwood even caddying for Oscar. He did so at The Challenge Tour in Dubai back in April of 2024. Notably, in 2011 Fleetwood became the youngest player to win the European Challenge Tour Rankings. Fleetwood made sure to give Oscar a shout-out as he held the FedExCup trophy. Later, when asked about Oscar’s reaction, Fleetwood reflected on his support system.

“I’m so blessed with the family that I have and the love that surrounds me and the support that I get that it just makes everything that much easier really, whether it goes good or bad. Whatever would have happened today, I would have walked off the 18th hole, and Oscar would have given me a hug. And we’d have gone home, and everything would have been great, like everything would have been fine.” Said Fleetwood.

“I would have been gutted, we’d have all been gutted and hurt a little bit, but life would still have been great, and I think that’s something that I would never take for granted.”

Wins or losses, it doesn’t seem to matter. Tommy Fleetwood remains grateful and kind throughout it all. His support system, family, friends, and fans, just goes to show that his mantra of  ‘be a good person first’ pays off in the end.
